You gotta hand it to Andy Cohen and the folks at Bravo — they really know how to garbage up the airwaves. If there’s no table’s getting flipped, no glass of merlot getting thrown, or no lacefront getting ripped off, then something’s askew. With the Real Housewives of Atlanta set to premiere, it’s time for a gay rumor to stir the pot of interest because a sixth season don’t scandalize itself, hunty.
Kordell Stewart, former NFL quarterback and soon-to-be ex-husband of Porsha Stewart — the boring one — is the latest target of the lavender rumor mill. After this teaser clip of the upcoming premiere aired, rumors about Stewart’s sexuality — which have apparently been chasing after him like a [insert football reference here] for some time — began anew:
First of all, someone needs to let Kenya Moore know who the hell Nene Leakes is:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Second of all, we need a moratorium on newborn babies being shown on TV because the first few seconds looked like something out of Alien. And third, Porsha’s claims that Kendall wasn’t physically attracted to her led the former gridiron god to respond with this statement to Straight from the A:
I’m very ashamed of my wife for saying something that she knows is not true at all. The rumors have never been true. I’m not gay.
It is sad that she would target the homosexual community which often times lacks support to begin with. It is very disappointing that she will do anything and say anything for a minute of so- called fame.
She can have that life, I just want to continue to be the best single dad and father that I can for my son.
Kordell, Kordell, Kordell. Have Tom Cruise/John Travolta/Kerry Rhodes taught you nothing? A public statement that you’re not gay just makes you seem totally gay. Might as well go the James Franco route and deep-throat a phallic object on camera — no one even cares if that stunt queen’s gay at this point.

Who are these people again?

Ugh – the “real” housewives. I will never understand why these shows are popular. They appeal to the lowest common denominator – why would you want to be that? Though, I guess they look good in comparison to Honey Boo Boo.

I could have sworn I once saw Kordell at NYNY an old gay bar in Pittsburgh. Might have been him: might not have been. At least in this denial he did not claim he would penetrate his teamate’s wives and girlfriends. This denial was far more sophisticated.

Who are these losers?

Kordell just come out the closet. It’s old news now, like the guy from Prison Break no one really cares anymore. Luckily, I have never seen these shows.

the denials are so trite, it seems those who are suspected of being gay always use them! Wentworth Miller, for years denied he was gay and NOW? Oh, by the way, I am! Only one celeb. came out with an original semi? denial in stating he was bi (not totally gay?), but in truth, he said he was into men more than he was in to women ! BTW, it seems str8 dudes and women assume that a guy who does the PDA thing with a woman or is married to one or has one as a SO, is STR8! No, no! I would venture to guess that any gay guy over 30 probably had some relationship with a woman; either married, divorced or a gf, but opt for M/M when their orientation finally kicked in! You say, ‘no way!’ If you dare to go in to a gay bar and interview the denizens of he place, you will find that about 50% of them had been, at one time, involved with a woman! So being gay does not mean we are incapable of having sex with a female (look, we have sex with a knot hole, so why wouldn’t we be able to have sex with a vagina?) Just say,en.

I don’t know anything about Mr. Stewart’s sexual orientation (+ don’t care, tbqh) but I think his response was a pretty reasoned, mature one. I appreciate that he wasn’t gay-bashing or macho posturing in the denial statement.
