Whatever your take on Nick Jonas, thereâs no denying heâs everywhere. In fact, heâs overexposed. On the heels of his film (Goat, opening today) and upcoming album (Last Year Was Complicated), he was most recently emblazoned on the cover of the newest issue of Wonderland magazine to promote his raft of products. In the accompanying interview, he manages to discuss his sexuality and his sometimes rocky relationship with the gay community.

âSexuality is important as an artist,â he declares. âTo embrace it, and use it as ammunition in your creative life, and understanding that part of your life, and how it makes you feel.â

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Later in the interview, he touches upon the criticism heâs faced for his support of the LGBTQ community and accusations of gay-baiting. âIâm totally aware of my intentions in and any and all of my attempts to be an ally to the gay community,â he says. âStarting in theatre growing into the performer I am today, Iâve made so many great friends belonging to the LGBT community . The positive impact is 10 times more important that the negative comments.â
Of which weâre about to receive quite a few.

Another day, another Nick Jonas article on Queerty
Mo Bro
I kind of like this guy.
Not sure what his story is, nor am I attracted to him, but I feel he’s brethren.
Captain Obvious
It only counts as gay baiting if the guy isn’t actually gay. He’s more like chum driving our dar crazy and the more he denies it the more intriguing the chase becomes.
PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID
Oh FFS.
What’s worse is you try to disgiuse it up as ironic.

Meanwhile…
Yo, we’ve got to talk about Kevin
…Kevin Abstract that is and his must-see new video with an interesting plot twist
Let’s shine some light on *this* kid and help bump his views and streaming figures and help move the culture on just a little bit. Cuz Queerty won’t and doesn’t really care.

NICK JONAS IS NOT GAY! Why why why do you waste so much time in hm?!?! This is the gay-equivalent of all those midwest suburban moms who carry a torch for poor Jennifer Aniston because of evil BrAngelina #enough
Baba Booey Fafa Fooey
I don’t care for this guy anymore. I liked him at first, but not anymore. He does play on the low self esteem of gay men. He dangles a carrot (pun intended) in front of them and then pulls it away. James Franco does the same thing – I don’t know what it is – but it’s disingenuous.
Kim K Kute Kuchie
he’s hot & supporting the horny gays who couldn’t get enough of his hot body. Better him than those faggy homos twinkies
Ksb1978
Music has always embraced sexuality. Heterosexuality. He’s not doing anything revolutionary here. Nothing to see.
Billy Budd
He is cute. Even Madonna sided with us for a reason. Who cares if they make a buck while defending us. They are defending us and that is good.
DMRX
Why do you bitter old Queens have no problem with a straight female star who supports the LGBT community (without openly wondering if she’s a closet case) but you delight in trash-talking guys like Nick so much?
Jealous much?
An ally is an ally, and we need all we can get. Our quest for equal rights is not over.
Jim
If he would just come out, he’s be a great role model for young GLBT kids.

@DMRX: There’s a really insightful point there buried amongst the unnecessary animosity. Would be wiser to adopt a more mature and conciliatory tone IMO. It worked for me đ
