And who, exactly, is “prepared” to take on those international threats and energy policy issues? Hillary with a term and a half in the senate and a commercial law practice and eight years welcoming girl scout troops to the white house? (oh wait, I’m sorry…she was integral to policy decisions.) ANY of the republicans? McCain has the most “foreign policy” experience and he just wants to set up a Thousand Year Reich in Iraq. Romney can balance his checkbook, and huckabee’s foreign policy experience is limited to the ability to speak in tongues.
Point is, we’re not hiring a wonk here, or an Operations Manager, or even a CEO. Given the realities of what the prez really does on a day to day level, the ability to reach out and work with opponents, the ability to inspire and motivate the people, the ability to put boring old energy policy issues into emotionally-resonant terms that actually might drive people to some constructive action, are all more important than knowing where the pencil sharpener is on Day One.

But with voodoo economics leading to the greatest recession since the great depression, doubling the national debt, the S&L scandal, and surrounding himself with crooks, Reagan – the Great Unifer – created a mess. Actors inspire; we need someone who can govern smartly and efficiently and get things done.

As to people disparaging Hillary’s experience I say: she’s had 16 years’ experience against the relentless Republican smear machine, vicious, take-no-prisoners character assassinations. They’ve spent millions, impeached her husband, yet she’s still standing. They literally have nothing left.
They haven’t even BEGUN with Barack Hussein Obama, and if you think his admitting cocaine use when young isn’t going to be a MAJOR issue if he gets the nomination, just wait and see the lying creeps come out of the woodwork.
And this is a separate issue from the idea that the US is suddenly , magically free of racial bias. I don’t buy that.
It makes people feel good about themselves, but this country has a way to go, honestly.
Obama will be fine though, if he doesn’t get the nom this time. He’s very young by presidential standards, and will live to fight another day. Just MHO.

I think that Obama is a great candidate and I can agree that he certainly has the ability to bring people together and inspire people to dream a bigger dream than ever before.
However I think we need to be fair and understand that Clinton is equally as great a candidate and far more experienced. That goes without saying, now whether you like her or not is certainly a valid issue. However most of the negative articles and post about Clinton are purely personal attacks and not about the issues that matter.
I say lets compare both of their agendas, plans, and goals and also look at their resume and see who is the most qualified.
I am black and as much and as I love Obama I don’t think everyone is cut out to be President. Time will tell though, and Mr. Obama may prove me wrong.

We have two great choices…really three. It will come down to a choice between a “lifting up” or experience.
What I find gross is that the liberal blogosphere has jumped on the mainstream media bandwagon by painting the Clinton’s as racist. Anyone in their right mind knows better than that.
It is in the interest of the media to play the race card, it is not in our best interest as democrats. One can vote for Hillary and not be a member of the KKK and one can vote for Obama and not be sexist.
In the process of this shit slinging by Fox and CNN, John McCain comes out smelling like roses compared to the shitpie that he is.
I really don’t care who Caroline Kennedy, Oprah Winfrey or Carrot Top supports and I sure as shit ain’t going to listen to Bill Bennet, Ralph Reed, Roland Martin, Lou Dobbs and the rest of the evangelical nutcases at CNN.

Jack Jett is basically correct. Anyone of the current top three is better than anything the goppies have on offer. Mitt is slimier than garden slug. Huckabee knows a couple of guitar chords and believes in creationism. McCain is as much of a hypocrite and Lieberman and even more socially conservative. Forget Giuliani since he won’t be around after the Florida primary.
With our current nominating system, it isn’t likely we will see another FDR, but I hope with this election we will at least get back to someone who is competent. With all the bloodletting going on between Clinton and Obama, we might just hand the goppies another presidency.

I don’t know who you guys talk to each day outside of the gay bubble but my moderate/ independent family and friends will simply refuse to vote for Hillary. Fair or not, there is too much baggage or embarrassment for the US over having two families rule the country for 24+ years. She can only get the hard-core base and that is not enough.
As for experience, what foreign policy or energy policy experience did Bill have as governor of Arkansas??? And W was an admitted recovered alcoholic and got elected.
Obama can never live up to all the hype but he makes me proud to be American again at least.

Seriously, y’all — our goal here is to win. You would not believe how much my extended family — most of them independent voters — hates Hillary. I’m not such a big fan of her myself, and I’m a classic gay San Francisco liberal. You may not be totally crazy about Obama, but the guy appeals to people far outside the Democratic mold. And especially if we’re up against McCain in November, it’s going to take a candidate with lots of broad appeal to win. Hillary may have the “experience” (really — what’s with this “35 years” crap?), but he has the appeal we need to win this thing.

Super Tuesday has Hillary leading in most Delegate-ladened states. I notice than when things don’t look good for the Obama xanaxed-out supporters, they start their Propaganda that Barack is a Uniter, Not a Divider! I know what I get with Hillary and I am pulling the lever for her without hesitation because I am Gay before I am trying to be the popular cheerleader. Why did Barack diss her so at the State of the (tattered) Union speech by what’s-his-name? Answer, codified race-baiting to his shrinking base. Hillary owns the Economy message. She’s a Clinton and they get it done. I also want to add that most of my queer friends support Hillary hands-down over Barack “McClurkin” Obama and I am talking across the board including all those groups Barack tried to claim (he just don’t like US!) Sorry, it’s a fact!

I’m gonna get whiplash before this election is over. A few months ago I was loving all the top three. Now I’m kind of sick of them, especially after all the whining and childishness from all sides in Carolina. Hillary stumbled bad (and I support her, mostly), but Obama seems to take one step backward for every step forward.
Kennedy’s backing does mean a lot, though – especially given that he is usually neutral. I can’t imagine him jumping on any bandwagon.
If we vote for who we think will win we get shitty candidates and end up losing … so that logic is out in my book.
I know plenty of people who might vote Democrat but hate the Clintons, but … my Republican mom who hated Bill likes Hillary and is actively supporting her. There are certainly other women out there like her.
