As TMZ reports, the Rancho Mirage home is owned by James Costos, outgoing US ambassador to Spain, and his husband Michael Smith, the White House decorator since 2008. It’s the Obama’s 4th visit to the palatial estate, which is spread out over eight acres and peers over the top of the development — the perfect place to sip Mai Tais, observe the world you’ve conquered, and brace yourself for whatever grisliness is around the corner.

Thunderbird Country club is a huge development with multimillion dollar homes. Lucy and Desi had several homes here in the Coachella Valley. It’s always great when the Obamas visit.

I will never understand the blindness and foolishness that makes people like you support those who have nothing but distaste for you. Brought unemployment back to tolerable levels despite a tepid world economy. Successful economic stimulus that re-activated the auto and other industries. Establishment of many sanctuaries and parks to help preserve valuable ecological resources for future generations. Helps get us to be more energy independent than we have ever been before, though there has been an ecological downside to that. Brought health care to many millions who were without health insurance before the ACA. Restored the respect for the US internationally by being diplomatic, intelligent and elegant in the presence of foreign leaders in a way Bush was not able, and Trump will not care to be. Was the first president to speak openly and respectfully about LGBT people. How’s that for starters? Reduced the growth of debt, and reduced deficit spending.
He inherited too complex a situation in the middle east for anyone to deal with and was thwarted by the legislature in many ways. He was not perfect, but is clearly a brighter and more well educated man than with Bush was or Trump is. Get ready for a kleptocratic administration that rivals anything seen in the 19th and early 20th century!!
