What is supposed to be a celebratory week for Republicans is very rapidly spiraling out of control.
Not only was the first night of the RNC plagued by a foul stench (of rotten bananas and mildew, specifically), a failed coup by Anti-Trumpers, poor attendance and accusations of plagiarism, but Republicans on the media circuit haven’t been helping matters.

Yesterday, the co-chair of the GOP platform committee, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, attempted to explain to CNN why the anti-LGTBQ GOP platform isn’t really anti-LGBTQ, despite all the homophobic and transphobic rhetoric.
In the interview, Fallin said that the Republican Party will “stand for the human rights of all people, not just one segment, one class, one race, one preference, but for all people in the United States.”
That’s great! Except for the fact that the official GOP platform explicitly says: “Traditional marriage and family, based on marriage between one man and one woman, is the foundation for a free society and has for millennia been entrusted with rearing children and instilling cultural values.”

Oh, and it also calls the whole trans bathroom issue a “dangerous” invasion of privacy as well as an attempt by liberals to further their own agenda.
And don’t get us started on what it says about abortion (which it opposes) and the adult film industry (which is labels a “public health crisis”).
But, according to Gov. Fallin,”we’re an inclusive party; we’re a big tent!”
“The main thing is, we think all human beings, no matter who you are, deserve respect, deserve equal treatment, and should be respected in all that we do, and be protected,” she told CNN.
She also noted there was a gay person on the committee that wrote the official platform. But she left out the part about how that person (Rachel Hoff) later said she so offended by Republicans’ sentiments that she was considering leaving the party.
Watch Gov. Fallin spin a sloppy word salad in the video below. Or don’t.

Maybe she’s wearing a big tent, but the GOP is not and never has been a ‘big tent’ welcoming wide diversity!

You just don’t understand. The GOP is a big tent. They treat everyone equally – whether you are heterosexual or very heterosexual, whether you are a Methodist or a Baptist or even a Lutheran (Jewish people have even, on occasion, slipped through the screening process – as long as they weren’t showy about it), whether you are white or very white or even albinos (although, albinos, not so much. They just look scary.) – everyone is welcome into the party of Pat Buchanan, David Duke, Josh Duggar and Donald Trump.

oh, for Christ sake, is she insane?
Even the head of the Log Cabin Republicans says this is the most anti-gay platform ever:

Seriously, though, the fallacy in the Governor’s argument is that you can’t treat everyone equally if they don’t start from an equal place in society. When some people are excluded, even ostracized, just offering them “equal” access to a society that deliberately excludes them is a joke. If legal distinctions that specifically eliminate the inequalities directed at LGBTQ Americans aren’t part of an “equality platform,” then you really aren’t in favor of equality for all under the law.

She is a typical GOP politician and says what she thinks she needs to say to make more money! :>)

GOP, the official platform of bigotry.

If what she says isn’t a lie, she would have no problem with making laws that covered not being able to fire or evict some for being “who they are.” That way it would cover everyone and there would be no problem with as she says “special rights.” Everyone would be covered. You couldn’t be fired for being gay, female, black, a white guy, trans, old, etc. If the wording is all that matters then this would get both sides what they want. We could get protections in housing and in the workplace and they wouldn’t have to seem like they were endorsing being gay.

Okay, exactly what WOULD it take for a homosexual to leave the party? Ya know… if you are GAY and you want the scent of the GOP without all the fascist stench, why not look at the Libertarian party? Gary Johnson and Bill Weld are pretty moderate guys. Loved Weld as the governor of MA.

This is how you get a cabinet position. Remember the mother of all female politician idiots, Christine Todd Whitmann of NJ and the rambling support she gave knucklehead back in 2000? I’m surprised he hasn’t tapped Michele Bachmann. The convention isn’t over yet and as desperate as they are for SOMEONE with a recognizable name her appearance does seem imminent. It as agreed by all “to hell with Sarah Palin”.

It is no surprise that she made a total fool of herself. She joins the ranks of the other idiots that are trying to run the party. She is a total joke and a disgrace to the Oklahoma constituency.

Sorry, Mary, but most of us ain’t fallin’ for your BS.
