One Direction Members Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles Poo-Poo Gay Rumors

Pity One Direction: In addition to international fame, fat bank accounts, youth and beauty, they have to suffer with dreaded gay rumors.

In an interview with Storyboard, OD member Louis bemoaned how some fans insist he and band mate Harry Styles, 18, know what makes each other beautiful. Numerous blogs and YouTube clips portray the guys as romantically attached, with some using the nickname “Larry Stylinson” to describe the duo.

“This is a subject that was funny at first but now is actually hard to deal with in a relationship,” says Tomlinson, 21, now dating 20-year-old model Eleanor Calder. “Me and Harry are best friends, people look into our every move—it is actually affecting the way me and Harry are in public. We want to joke around, but there seems to be a different rumor every time we do anything. I act the same way with Harry as I do [with] any of the other boys and my childhood friend Stan.”

Oh, Louis—it’s when the rumors stop that you really have to worry.

maybe Mr. Avery thought we’d enjoy the article more if the pic had boys with their pants down.

You seen one boy band you seen them all. Its not like they have changed at all in the past 20 or 30 years.

Are they gay or just European? I like to see straight men treating their straight friends with affection. Less evolved human beings are the only ones who can’t fathom the possibility that they might be straight…and dumbass, irrational screaming twits.

If any of them are gay, you can bet that they won’t come out of the closet until the 10th anniversary in their attempt to make a comeback after years of irrelevance. Let them be.

I always thought they were overdoing the affection between the two just to send all their teenage girl fans crazy. A bit like yaoi comics being almost exclusively read by teenage girls (they never have actual gayness in them, mostly just borderline stuff and mutual affection between teenage boys). They love it, as it isn’t threatening, it isn’t sexual, and there’s no girls involved so no competition for the individual fans (I know, haha!).
But I thought Harry Styles being a complete granny chasing trollop probably ruined that.
I wonder why it’s now bothering them – or at least Louis?
I always thought it was a master-stroke from their point of view and can only be good in terms of their fans’ affection for them.

Again. Hire an editor, preferably one who checks the identities of the photos you use, to make sure it’s the correct artist.

I am starting to think that this has to be intentional. No one can be this bad at their job, and keep it. So maybe they are making these errors purposely to generate comments to appear like an active community? its the only thing I can think of, because no employer should tolerate this level of incompetence.

At least use a boy band pic with five members

@Chris: I’ve always suspected that was the case, but if I remember correctly there were similar errors with the previous Queerty, when they had different writers.
Maybe they left a list of pointers in the office before they left:

      1. Use multiple-page photo slides = more clicks
      2. Always post articles on Lady Gaga, Anderson Cooper and Lady Gaga.
      3. Mistakes = guaranteed comments.
      4. Never forget the Queerty tagline: “Free From An Agenda… Except That Generating Ad Revenue One”
      5. Finally, never forget: all the other gay news outlets are laughably bad, so don’t worry too much about standards.

The old Queerty had the miserable fool, Dan Villareal writing antigay posts. Getting rid of him was the best thing Queerty could have done. If they use NKOTB pics for every post, I won’t hold it against them so long as they never re-hire Dan Villareal.

      who are these guys??

@Analog: I don’t think the other outlets have the sheer volume of errors that queerty has. And I understand Dan Villareal was a nightmare, but the current writers have shown a lot of personal animus towards certain actors, willingness to ignore facts, and have shown a deep disregard for their chosen profession, reusing o even check for basic grammar and spelling. So while the current crop of contributors is somewhat of an I prove, enter Mr. Villareal, that is a very low bar, and queerty shold, at a minimum be striving for basic Writing skills and accuracy.
