Rule of thumb: If you ever spot a celebrity walking down the street, and then have the nerve to race up to that celebrity and insist he take a photograph with you, it wouldn’t be particularly chivalrous or gallant to later post said photo to Instagram alongside a nasty jab at his height.

Nevertheless, self-proclaimed Nick Jonas fan Zak Hanzal evidently didn’t receive this memo, and gleefully posted a photo featuring him, arm affectionately wrapped around shoulder, standing alongside Jonas — and then the certifiably douchebaggy comment, “U need a few inches on you bruh.”
Needless to say, this didn’t sit at all well with the pop star, who took it upon himself to huffily write back to Hanzal, saying, “You need some manners ‘bruh’… I didn’t need to stop to take that picture with you. Just rude. Very rude.”
How about we take this to the next level?

Low blow, Zak. Low, low blow.

When I worked in TV I went to various programming events and have photos of me with various actors. I’m 6 4″ and the one next to William Shatner looks really funny. But I would never have commented on his height to his face
ChrisK
I was watching a thing on Scientology and Tom Cruise was walking about. You’re just never ready to see him next to normal people. He’s like a midget.
prarie pup
ChrisK, that’s totally funny. I remember Nicole Kidman on David Letterman’s show right around the time she was divorcing Tom…who I understand is ultra-sensitive on the subject of his height. Letterman asked her a couple of time to comment on the divorce and she refused–then, while cracking up, she blurted “I can start wearing high heels again.” The audience was thought that was hysterical, but I was thinking, “Oooooh. That’s gonna cost ya few million in reduced alimony.”
ChrisK
It is kind of funny though. I’ll bet this Zack guy is around 6’0. Lol
niles
no it’s not funny in the least, and you are a horror of a human being
prarie pup
Niles. A HORROR? Really? Lighten the eff up, bruh.
Brody
I got your back, Nick.
Short men are hot.
silveroracle
I’m with you on that one.
I’m 5′ 9″ and Nick Jonas is 5′ 7″ and hot with it.
Maude
I’m 5’5″ and I grew to 10 feet tall when I joined the Marine Corps.
Kieran
There may be more to this story. Maybe they hooked up afterwards for sex and he was commenting on penis size.
Eddie Jr
I hate to say it but it seems Mr. Jonas has got thin skin. Being in the public eye he should be used to much worse. Maybe he was having a bad day. He would have proved himself the bigger man by letting the innocent comment go. It would be different hat the man said “boy are you ever freaking short”.
DarkZephyr
Get over yourself. Who do you think you are? Ann Landers?
phallictomato
“It would be different had the man said “boy are you ever freaking short”.” – Zak might as well have said just that, because he implied that Nick needed to be taller – something that is completely out of his control. So how is the sentence you provided any different to what Zak said?
Nick doesn’t have thin skin either. Imagine taking time out of YOUR day to take a picture with someone, only to have them make fun of YOU about something you couldn’t change even if you wanted to? It’s comments like yours that remind of me the ‘blame-the-victim’ mentality that too many people of this generation have right now. Like ‘Oh that person got raped? They should have tried defending themselves better’… like, are you serious??? Nick should have thicker skin??? Unbelievable…
topsyturvy
I grow a couple of inches every time I see Nick Jonas.
Paco
He has the same effect on me as well.
Doug
Same here. I’d like him to sit on my lap.
MommieDammit
I just don’t understand hating on short men…
After all, the only thing better than a long-legged man wrapping his thighs around my hips, is a short-legged man trying.
Rocinante
I am 5’7″ and never really consider myself short till somebody makes a point of it. If being short is considered a detriment, why would anyone make a point of it unless your just insecure about something else. If we walked around with our IQs stamped on our head, would you walk up to a guy with 90 and point out how dumb they are, probably not if they were 6 inches taller than you. Their smart enough to pound a few points out of you.
phallictomato
It’s pretty rude to put someone down when it comes to height. Did they have a choice in how tall or short they were going to end up? No. Nick took the time to stop and take a picture with this guy – he didn’t have to, but he did, and he gets a rude comment in return? Not cool.
dustychiffon
Nick: And I’m still 10ft hotter than you bro.
prarie pup
Nick Jonas is a hot man…and in the sack, we’re all roughly the same height.
Billy Budd
I love shorter boys. They are cute.
ryantbo
Had same thing happen when I met Antonio Banderras. I always expected him to be at least 6′ but when I was stranding face to face I had to look down to make eye contact. Im barely 5’10”. There was a girl behind me, and as I turned around I heard her say “well this ruined the fantasy”. I said “you are a foot away from him, how can this ruin the fantasy”. She replied, “In the fantasy he’s 6’2”. To this day my buddy that was with me will look at me and say “Hey, you are taller than Antonio Banderras”. 🙂
Ummmm Yeah
It was an offhand comment. I don’t think the guy expected him to cry over it.
alllowercase
That’s the point, we don’t ever expect someone to get offended by some “offhand comment”. But maybe that’s why we should think before speaking or posting, so as to not offend someone.
BriBri
Better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt Zac! And you too, Ummmmm Yeah…..
Jack Meoff
I don’t think there was anything wrong with Nick’s comment but I have to admit I am constantly surprised at how many short men there are in the entertainment industry. So many vertically challenged actors and singers these days.
frankcar1965
What an assy holey thing to say!!! Why is being short “vertically challenged”?
johnnyx3000
Short, tall who cares. Nick Jonas is a hottie. Everyone has a bad day and like most of us short guys sometimes we just get over it.
baggins435
I volunteered with one of the lounges at the Sundance film festival for years and got to see/meet quite a few celebrities. I was really shocked at just how short the majority of actors and actresses truly are. They have to average shorter than the general population. I created the theory that their lack of height was part of the reason they chose acting. Seriously, I’m 5’10” and I had to look down at Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandon has to be about the tiniest woman I’ve seen.
Dissing someone for their height is on par with commenting on race, handicaps, scars, or anything else they have no control over.
seaguy
I am on Nick’s side that guy was totally rude, he looks like a total frat bro ass hole.
Nahald
My partner is 5-6, but where it counts he’s bigger than most. And I have a feeling that those who aren’t blessed with height are blessed down below too.
