This week, openly gay figure skater Adam Rippon became the first out athlete to qualify for the U.S. Olympics.
While doing publicity and making the rounds, the 28-year-old athlete told the BBC he wouldn’t feel remotely welcome if he visited the White House.

“I don’t think somebody like me would be welcome there,” he said. “I know what it’s like to go into a room and feel like you’re not wanted.
