Out magazine has started teasing the boldface gays, lesbians and transgendered who made this year’s OUT 100, with honorees coming from fashion, politics, entertainment and other diverse fields.
Androgynous male model Andrej Pejic (at right), who has walked in both men’s and women’s runway shows, was named “Stylemaker of the Year.” He joins J. Edgar and Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, Tony nominees Rory O’Malley (The Book of Mormon) and Colman Domingo (The Scottsboro Boys), Broadway actor Matt Doyle (War Horse) rugby star Gareth Thomas, Judge J. Paul Oetken and lesbian comedian Geri Jewell (The Facts of Life).
The full list will be announced in New York on November 17 and the honorees will be featured in Out‘s December 2011 issue.

The problem with this OUT 100 List is that they recycle the same people over and over. There are so many people in the community to celebrate, but OUT always goes to the same “celebs”…desgigners, actors, models, musicians, writers, etc. It’s always about the OUT people in the “fabulous” fields. Where are the lawyers? Teachers? Doctors? Where are the real unsung heroes. This list is going to be a predictable as the “types” of contestants who come on down on THE PRICE IS RIGHT. It’s always the same. Yawn!

You speak a great deal of sense in general but pop-psych is a poor substitute for actual clinical understanding. Stick to what you’re good at.

Also, I’m going with Xander on this one too. Since you claim the reasons are obvious and textbook, I assume you have an actual textbook, or at least some papers published in a reputable academic journal, to back it up?
You do make good points in a lot of posts, but the armchair psychology distracts from them. People are bound to think “oh, he’s spouting nonsense about the family of someone he has never even met, why should I pay attention to anything else he says?” and tune it out. Which is a shame, since you seem like an intelligent (and very humpable) person.
