The sassy lads of Oxford University’s all-male a cappella group Out of the Blue are channelling their inner queens and serving some serious hips for their latest charitable single, a mash-up of their favorite Shakira tunes.
These well-educated men serve schoolboy realness in uniforms throughout the video below, save one shirtless man showing off his bare, bedazzled back (this is apparently “mildly risqué” for Oxford).
They’re performing renditions of global hits “Hips Don’t Lie”, “Whenever, Wherever” and “Waka Waka” for the sake of charity, donating all proceeds from the video to the Helen and Douglas House, the world’s first hospice for children:
If you’re as into it as we are, you’ll probably also enjoy their renditions of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”. Chech ’em out below:

I’m charmed. Love to see these (presumedly) mostly hetero men let loose a little, some of them prob a bit out of their comfort zone, but giving it the old college try anyway. The slender blonde young man (mostly shown to immediate left of main singer, and shirtless to the right in vid1, at far left in vid 2, at far right in vid 3) is absolutely adorable.

Yeah, NO !
Not very good singing combined with a narcissistic preppy a*hole vibe (“We are the best and sex machines and if you say anything mean we will cry and call our fathers and they will sue you”)…
But it´s for a good cause, so: Good luck and thx…

I’m sorry but it’s a no for me as well. But good luck boys.

They’re young, cute, and give off a happy vibe. Wonderful charity, too. Adorbs.

I wasn’t going to watch until I read a couple negative comments. Any time nasty, bitter queens sling judgement, it means something enjoyable is the topic.
These boys can’t help where they’re from, but by the looks of this, they’re on their way to becoming thoughtful men.
Good job!

I’m Gleeking out for Dalton Academy!

Couldn’t they have chosen a better performer?

When and where is the gangbang? I’m game.

Oh honey, that boi singing lead on “Hips Don’t Lie” (and, I believe, is also the one sporting the rhinestone appliques) is totes playing for our team. I haven’t seen such limp wrists and sashaying since the last time I had brunch in WeHo.
Stereotypes aside, they’re actually not very good singers. I’d rather just give money directly to the charity than buy their 15-minutes-of-Internet-fame drivel.

Personally, I found the Shakira cover is infinitely more entertaining and sexy than the original.
LadyL
I concur. They are adorable–loved the “Hips Don’t Lie” cover!

@michael:
The cutie you are talking about is Bobby Goulder. And although the scene went by fast, I believe the other shirtless guy next to him in the Shakira video is Joshua – his husband (whatever the legal status is in the UK.)
We saw them perform last year and while the videos are okay – they are quite fun to see their live performance. A friend dragged me along and I thought it would be boring, but they put on a great show.

@rafael perez: Thanks for the info Rafa! The vids a were fun, if not fully “professional.” Must admit I have a soft spot (or is that hard spot?) for talented young men (Celtic Thunder, Ylvis, Pentatonix, The Backstreet Boys.)

It’s a no from me!

Boys? Oxford is a university. These are men and calling them schoolboys denigrates them. LOL
Well, if we said the same thing about their female counterparts — called them girls — the thought police would have us whisked away.
E T
@Pax: I always see “schoolgirl,” never “schoolboy.” It’s frequent to consider grown women girls, and not so common for grown men to be called boys. I can’t see why not, though. Nothing wrong with giving all genders a chance to stay kids at heart, within reason. So, I’m going to say your ‘reverse sexism’ argument is a false one.

Wow lot’s of bitchiness from queens who just don’t want to (or couldn’t get) fucked by the guys in the video. It’s just some guys trying to do something to get noticed and make money for charity…jeez guys…lighten up!
jasentylar
Good for them. Definitely made me think of “Glee” and Dalton Academy Warblers.
