A British pastor claims that a long-cancelled U.K. children’s TV show Rainbow is turning children into homosexuals, according to Daniel Erickson-Hull, a pastor at the End Times News Ministry in Bristol, England.
Erickson-Hull says the show was nothing but propaganda that intended to “homosexualize all children.”
More than 1,000 episodes of Rainbow, which featured characters like Bungle, Zippy, and George, were produced when the series aired on ITV from 1972 to 1992.
The pastor is particularly obsessed with the show’s opening credits, which feature a cartoon rainbow opening a book and which he believes represents the gay movement “infiltrating The Bible.” He calls same-sex marriage an “abomination” and homosexuality is simply “hideous.”
It’s not the first time he’s been in the news, either.
His sister Anna Erickson-Hull wrote a homophobic tirade after her daughter brought home a badge promoting LGBTQ awareness about homophobic bullying.
“You cannot enforce this filth on children,” he said at the time. “We are living in the last days.”

Sounds like a LOVELY family!
I can attest watching PBS’ “Reading Rainbow” did *not* turn me gay. Baby I was born this way.
Also, surprised none of these Margaret White-type assholes haven’t seized upon something universal to children’s programming: anthropomorphized animals, trees, etc. are THE WORK OF THE DEVIL!

Don’t they have law suits for slander in the UK?

I am so happy I grew up with cartoons that made you laugh and left the social message out of it. May Popeye, the Three Stooges and Mighty Mouse live forever (though I will admit I liked The New Zoo Revue featuring Doug, Emmy Jo, Charlie the Owl, Freddie the Frog and Henrietta Hippo and the songs that they sang). Shit like Romper Room was never forced down my throat and my dad had too many doubts about Mr. Rodgers to let me watch (personally, I felt the same way even back then).
I hated Pixanne with a passion. That bitch interrupted my morning Harveytoons send off to school. To this day I still want to read about her being raped my nine Mandingo sized You-know-what-types. Harveytoons was what made my day and I actually cried when they took them off to put her stupid show on.
I think the pastor has a point with shit like Teletubbies, the Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake and such. I just don’t think little boys should watch those types of shows. They were designed to take the fight out of them, which is wrong. Ok, tone down the violence but little boys HAVE to have a little fight in them in order to survive in this dog eat dog world.
And now, a trip down the memory lane of my childhood. Hope you enjoy.

It’s all about Bungle. The bear with the smushed in face and small snout.

Maybe his hate is forcing people into the open – and disgracing his church!

I just KNEW that Tinkie Winkie was still alive and subverting the children! It must be a satanic terrorist plot to have every child in the world become gay and have the human race die out!!!! Where, oh where is Superman when we need him?

@Milton Appleby:

My younger cousin used to watch Mr Rogers Neighborhood all the time and he’s married now with 3 kids.

I love the rainbow. Some of the double entendres were fantastic LOL

Me & my friends all watched that growing up. But if it wasn’t this it was other puppet shows. And comedy shows with cross dresses were popular back then with the mainstream. Some of the viewers that loved those shows were also not very nice to gay people, that was the norm back in the day here.

This doesn’t ring true. For one we don’t have pastors in the UK we have “vicars” and any such mention of such behaviour would be slapped down by the CoE. Silly discussion. Your editors are confusing us with Americans.

I don’t know how long-cancelled children’s TV show is now retroactively ‘influencing’ children, but of course, religious indoctination at schools is OK..!
As for Rainbow, I challenge anyone who has never seen this sweet, innocent & wholesome children’s TV show in finding ANY suggestive or sexual innuendo! Nope. Nothing rude or suggestive at all. No sirreee

..apart from sounding innuendo-ish and quite funny I believe this pastor needs to have his head examined. People who spew such ridiculous and silly nonsense must seek medical help…
GayEGO
Well I was born in 1941 as a gay male before this TV program, so this so-called pastor is simply a wacko.

If Free To Be You and Me helped me to come out when I was ready, I say “well done”! Imagine if that show were on today…
