Peaches Christ Salutes Classic Hollywood And Proves There’s No Place Like Frameline

For every queer who has sought refuge in San Francisco, the new official trailer promoting this year’s Frameline39: San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival reads like a quintessential allegory as it borrows the plot of one of the gayest Hollywood classics of all time (no spoilers here though — you have to watch the video). We can tell you that this two-minute gem is written and directed by Joshua Grinnell (aka Peaches Christ who also stars) and produced by Brian Benson (co-producer of Howl), co-produced by Matthew Riutta (location manager for Looking and Milk), and edited by Bill Weber (We Were Here, The Cockettes, To Be Takei). Okay, since you can probably tell the plot from the image above we’ll share that it also co-stars Heklina as the Wicked Witch!

This year’s festival tagline couldn’t be more timely for the ever-changing City by the Bay: There’s No Place Like Here.

Frameline runs from June 18-28 at numerous venues throughout the Bay Area including the legendary Castro Theatre. More info and tickets at Frameline.org.
