“After illegal Gay Pride marches went ahead in Moscow earlier this month, homosexualist activists are condemning the Russian Orthodox Church for asserting Christian teaching on sexuality and suggesting that homosexual people do not have to live the ‘gay lifestyle’. One member of the Orthodox Church, Father Vsevolod Chaplin, recently said of homosexuals, in an interview with newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, ‘Such people are deeply unhappy’. ‘I know it from confessions and numerous life stories. It’s not by chance that they die earlier and there’re more suicides, drug addicts and alcoholics among them,’ he said.” [Virtue Online]

gosh it’s like I am back in the 80’s again … “blast fax kudo’s all around!”
It never ceases to amaze me how people (especially those whose job requires them to be compassionate and forgiving) can’t see the obvious reason for an oppressed minorities expressed unhappiness.
Could it be the fact that they are being oppressed? Nah, that couldn’t be it.

This is the same Russian Orthodox church that to insured it’s survival was complicit in working with the Tsar and later the Soviet government to aide in the oppression of the Russian people. This behavior towards gays isn’t surprising, merely a faded power structure longing for their “Good Old Days”.

Don’t they get the fact that many of us are “unhappy”, clinically depressed and suicidal BECAUSE of how we are treated by those HOMOPHOBIC BIGOTS!!!!

That Father Vsevolod is quite a bear!

Visit any gay bar/meeting place and, voila, what you see proves the Father’s point. Meth heads, phony twinks, flaming homos, married men afraid they’ll be caught in their lie, etc., are rampant in the gay community. I’ve indicated on other posts that the gay community, collectively, needs to take a different approach to “life.” Gay pride days, for instance, are nothing more than displays of excessive eccentricity. We need to “main stream” ourselves, and attempt to fit into the larger society to which we all belong. The gay community of today is truly sad.
And, THINK about what I’ve written before you condemn my thoughts and writing. If you think rationally and logically I suspect you’ll come to the same conclusions that I have.
Just a few thoughts……
