Being seated next to (or in this case, behind) someone you know on a flight can certainly go both ways — it’s either a happy bit of serendipity or a curse; a terrible curse.
For Democratic Presidential rivals Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar, it turned out to be more of the former — though still a little awkward we’d imagine. Both candidates appeared to have a good laugh at the seating arrangement.

Buttigieg and Klobuchar were traveling on a United Airlines flight to Houston, the host city of Thursday’s Democratic debate.

Instead, the took the Maxine Waters route (she gives the gate agent the evil eye until they get their “courtesy upgrade.” (No government employe is allowed first class — even President Clinton sat in coach on the USAir shuttle from NYC to WAS.)

I’ve been on a few United flights. Haven’t seen one yet where seat 12 is in First Class. Furthermore any government employee may fly in first class if they pay the upgrade costs. Get your “facts” straight.

You must not be one to fly very much. If you zoom in on the picture Amy is in row 12 and Pete is row 13. I believe for this jet, first class section are rows 1-6, which seats 24 people.
