On Saturday, former SF mayor Gavin Newsom married MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts and boyfriend Patrick Abner in New York.
On Sunday, Thomas posted a photo of his wedding ringpatr, with the caption “Morning in NYC is pretty sweet waking up as a married man!”

I really like the fact they wore suits and not tuxes. That’s Gavin Newsom officiating right? In what state did they marry? I thought Mr. Newsom is in CA where 2 guys aren’t allowed yet to get married and Thomas Roberts is in NY where I presume Mr. Newsom isn’t legal to perform weddings.

That is Gavin Newsom performing the ceremony. I assume that as California Lt. Governor, he has federal interstate authority with regard to officiating at civil ceremonies. It’s kind of wonderful that this was obviously not a Sex and the City 2 showgirl wedding -but cupcakes, really?! hahah…
