I’m not “hating”, but has he had work done? His face has kinda lost some of the roundess/boyishness it used to have, it’s a bit more angular now if that makes any sense. Very noticeable in the first two pic if you’ve ever watched his vids. Maybe it’s just him growing up and losing the baby fat or something. I must say though, I definitely prefer how he looked in porn.

Wow. I’d delete and/or destroy that copy of “Every Poolboy’s Dream” if I were you. Possession of child pornography doesn’t tend to go over well with law enforcement.

I have a lot of compassion for Sean Paul/Brent, he was abandoned by his mother and never knew his father then exploited heavily when he was underage and we ALL know about the Cobra drama.

I think he’s trying to reclaim his youth with this acting business since that was what he wanted to do originally. Maybe he should just do something different. Why doesn’t he make movies like “I Want Your Love” or “Shortbus” or something?

I think it has to do with the new muscle mass he’s packed on. We can’t be 19 year old twinks forever.

It must be terrible to wake up one day and realize that people are smiling at you more because of your asshole and dick rather than ANYTHING else about you. I wish him success but I personally DO think he needs to get the hell out of porn. He looks too old (in my opinion) to still be considered a “twink” and in one movie where he was teaching other “twinks” how to perform he looked out right bored with a “what the hell am I doing this for” look on his face throughout the entire pic. It is on most of the free porn sites.

I once saw Brett Everett in NYC and laughed out loud at just how cartoonish he looks in person. I love both Corrigan and Everett but hey, after ten years it is time to move on. Good luck guys. Love you both and wish you the best.

Is “Starring” in some indie film made on a shoe string budget really “going Hollywood?”

@Bob LaBlah: I’m not following your logic Bob. If one moves out of looking like a twink and more like a man doesn’t that open other possibilities?

I must say that I was a little surprised at this piece as I thought it should have focused on the film ‘Truth’ and not Sean’s past. What is newsworthy in the gay community is that there is a new film out that has set a new precedence for gay cinema. Not Sean’s past. Yes, we all are well aware of that – big deal. I was offended at the fact the writer chose to focus on something other than his current film effort, and for the fact that we worked very hard on this film to get it into theaters as of yesterday. Not once was I even mentioned as the creator and other star of the project. Don’t get me wrong at all, that’s not what I am looking for. Just looking for the respect that the film deserves, as well as the respect Sean deserves for taking a chance on this film as an ACTOR. All I ask is that you do not judge until you see it. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Yes, the best way to convince people that you aren’t looking for something to be said…..is to complain about the fact that it wasn’t said.

As for the film “Setting a new precedence for gay cinema”. Two guys meet online, there are some secrets, and things go wrong. Where exactly is the “New” part?

@rmoretti: I think you have every right to ask what you’ve asked. Queerty could have just reviewed your film and interviewed you and the other actor or at the very least mention you instead of blantantly just using the movie as a way to get pearl-clutching, hen-clucking comments thread about BC/SPL and his oh-so-torrid past.

I don’t get why the author of this piece pretended to be writing about your film when he really just wanted to take a shot at a former porn performer. Who cares if someone has done porn in their past? No one cares. Brent had sex on film for money. Big deal. It’s not shameful and it’s nothing for him to feel ashamed of and it also shouldn’t be used by this author or any author to try to malign other projects in which SEAN participates.

I checked IMDB and Sean Paul Lockhart has participated in at least 7 films. Many, like Judas Kiss, In the Closet, Chilleroma were very well-regarded.

I don’t get why gay men who comment on gay blogs seem to overwhelmingly have suddenly become such judgmental prudes. The gay men I grew up with didn’t think this way and would never shame someone for having done porn or any other kind of consensual sex work.

I don’t know if it is a desire to appear “mainstream” or if it’s just the conservatism of them growing older or if the general readership of Queerty is just incredibly antiquated in their thinking. Or maybe they are just Christian fundamentalist shut-ins in disguise. Who knows…?

Either way, the writers and contributors TO Queerty should not use their position as a way to take pot shots at former porn performers because they have some kind of issue with sex work.

Why even bother bringing up the movie if you’re not going to actually TALK about the film and its creators and such?

If you’re going to talk about SPL as an actor, why not actually talk about all of his roles as an actor outside of porn?

If you just want to write “Brent Corrigan is sooo slutty cuz he did porn and made stupid decisions when he was a teenager” {WHAT? OMG, NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING!} then just write that piece and don’t pretend to be writing about his acting career or this movie.

Seriously, who cares if an actor used to do porn? Obviously not the directors and writers who keep hiring SPL. He’s young and he’s working on his craft and that’s all that should matter.

If you don’t like porn, don’t buy it or watch it. End of. You don’t need to approve of someone’s life choices when they are a stranger to you and it’s none of your business.

He’s been in lots of non-porn films but he has a major problem and won’t overcome it without bucking his self-made type: he sells pretty and sexy. That’s too close a parallel to his porn work. A sharp and decisive departure is his only hope for a new career. Until then he’s one cute smile away from reminding us of his big dick and shaved hole.

BC/SPL has appeared in several non-porn films, but not one of them has offered a different look at him, so we see him the same: young, handsome, twink-y, well-built.

The only difference between his two modes is clothes on and mumbling or clothes off and ACTION!

Make a film about the murder case. That would be interesting.

If only all gay men could be as cute and sexy as Brent Corrigan. We need more sexy and cute in the “community” and less of the bitchy, bitter, judgmental types.

Oh give it a rest. Rmoretti should be thanking his lucky stars that Queerty did a story on his movie.

      1. He would have never hired Corrigan except for the fact that he felt that Corrigans prn past might bring a little attention to the movie.

      2. Queerty most likely would never have bothered to mention his movie without that fact, so his plan worked, watching him try to protest it is ridiculous.

      3. I saw Judas Kiss, claiming that Corrigan would have been hired over all the other gay actors out there who are BETTER actors without his porm past is also ridiculous.

This guy is no different than a director who stund hires Lindsay Lohan for a low budget movie and then complains that people writing about the movie mention her past….when the only reason he hired her in the first place was to get a little press.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

You know what? He’s giving it a chance and who knows? He might overcome and he might make it. We are all such “star f*ckers” that we’ve lost the ability to watch a film for what it is, at least most of the time, a fantasy, a story. We allow the actors personal lives and stories to interfere and when we do that we’re not in the present and we’re not allowing ourselves to receive the full, potential benefits, even if it’s just entertainment, that the film might offer. I do wish the “star f*ckers” would be more honest though, if you harp on an actors past then instead of saying “Oh, he’ll never make it because…….” Try owning what you’re really doing and say “I don’t want him to make it because I don’t believe a person with a past such as his should” If you’re going to judge and condemn then at least own it and don’t just project it.

Maybe the question we should be asking is should people be given a second chance?

I don’t pretend to know all of his history but if being in porn or making the mistake of lying about your age is the cross he is going to be wearing the rest of his life I don’t think that is fair. Most of us have watched porn. Many of us have lied about our age at one time or another. Frankly I don’t get why some people feel you have to stigmatize people who have done porn. Sex is what defines a gay person for a straight person. porn is for entertainment. Yes, I get he effected people who made money off of his image by lying about his age. If he admits to his mistake that is good enough for me.

As to the matter of his connection with a murder that is a completely different thing if it is true. I don’t have the facts so I am not going to judge.

@Cam: Once again Cam you hit the nail on the head. This budget on a shoe string film would’ve hit the dustbin of irrelevance fast so it makes logical sense to hire a infamous porn star and then act all shocked that people would focus on just that. You’re also right in that producer/directors do this all the time to lure people in. Low budgets are especially good at this.

Rob, we had an interview scheduled with Sean last week and many of the questions pertained to “Truth” and his pursuit of a “legitimate” acting career. However, Sean blew it off at the last minute without any notice, apology or attempt to reschedule.

@Jeremy Kinser: Hi Jeremy. Thank you for responding. That should have been something I was made aware of as the director of the film. If your intent was to focus on the film, I’d be more than happy to give an interview – just ask.

As a teen growing up in southern California in the ’50’s I enjoyed gay porn such as it as then and available from LA newsstands (Physique Pictorial, VIM, Tomorrow’s Man, etc.) That was almost the only homosex available to a teen in homophobic times. For almost the next 50 years I didn’t pay much attention other than to note that restrictive laws were falling. Cruising bars, baths, beaches and backrooms became possible and was more interesting. Now, as an oldster living in SF — a city phobic in other ways — without recourse to bathhouses or bars where you can smoke, I rediscovered porn. including the films of Brent Corrigan that communicate a youthful joy in sex mostly absent from most porn product. Thanks, Brent, but next time keep your appointment with Queerty’s editor. We’d like to read it.

It isn’t Queerty’s problem that apparently the actor you hired has so little professionalism that not only would he book the interview without telling you, but then not bother to even show up. Frankly you are lucky Queerty wrote as nice an article about it as they did.

Okay, I am confused. Brent says he wants to be a legitimate actor and go main stream YET, he is still doing Cam Shows. WTF? NO studio is going to hire a porn star that is still doing porn. If he truly wants to be taken as a serious actor, he needs to stop the cam shows and stuff. I actually supported his wanting to be a legitimate actor until I found out he was still doing Cam shows, which totally goes against his mission- just confusing.
