From New York to London to San Francisco, all across the world people stood up and showed their Pride over the weekend.
Of course, this year’s festivities took on an extra significance after the massacre in Orlando that left 49 dead and 53 wounded. Many used the weekend’s celebration as an opportunity to show solidarity to the lives lost and send a message to the world that the LGBTQ community will not be silenced by fear and intimidation.

I just had the privilege of photographing this year's PRIDE festival in West Hollywood. It was an incredible experience and I can't begin to describe what a great sense of love I witnessed and FELT. How wonderful would it be if everyone could always feel this free to be who they are, wherever we may be. #lapride

June 26, 2016 Activist I came with my fiancé and for the cause." Tonyé-d'mitria Vickers held the hand of Lamar Harris with what I can only describe as deep affection and adoration. It was all in the squeeze. This was Lamar's first pride and he celebrated it by baring his chest. Tonyé held tighter when he spoke about the massacre in Orlando. "I am actually seeing more unity and more unification than I have ever seen at a gay pride. There is a feeling of togetherness I have never experienced before. I expect stricter gun laws because we the LGBTQ community have made a lot happen in the past. I count on that strength to get things done. #nycpride2016 #pride2016 #streetphotography #streetportrait #makeportraits #makeportrait #leicam240 @leicaakademieusa @leicacamerausa
