We’re headlong into the cold-weather season, but the folks at Broadway Bares, the legendary burlesque revue benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, are heating up the Big Apple with Broadway Bares: Winter Burlesque on January 27 at New York’s XL nightclub.
Directed by Michael Lee Scott, the show is actually a full-staged version of Broadway Bares: Beach Burlesque, held last summer on Fire Island, and features more than 25 Broadway dancers in a striptease spectacular sure to cure the winter blues.
Performers for Broadway Bares: Winter Burlesque include Cesar Abreu, Samantha Berger, Daria Chamanskaia, Stephan Choiniere, Adam Fleming, KC Fredericks, Judah Gavrah, Lauren Gemelli, Andrew Glaszek, Christopher Jackson, Christopher Michael Lacey, John Paul LaPorte, Brandon Rubendall, Angie Schworer, George Smallwood, Justin Smith, Matthew Steffens, Jamal Story, Grant Thomas, Rickey Tripp, Steven Wenslawski and Sidney Erik Wright.
Below, check out some images from Broadway Bares: Beach Burlesque, held in June in the Fire Island Pines

You know, Colin Powell had it right. The make up of America nowadays, even in the gay community, needs to be addressed. I could not help but notice that not ONE dark-skinned latino (as in Indian mixed blood) or an Oriental was on that staged. Maybe I missed it but after three tries I don’t think I did.

@Bob LaBlah: As Merry Christmas from “Avenue Q” says “I know you don’t mean to be racist but Oriental is offensive – the term is Asian”. I’ve seen Broadway Bares on several occasions and there have always been men of color included in the cast.
