PARTY HAUS

PHOTOS: Brooklyn Bids Farewell To Queer-Rock Party QxBxRx

One of the hottest queer-music nights in the country played its swan song, when Erik Karff, Stephen Crowe and Andrew Martini  hosted the final Queers, Beers and Rears (often abbreviated to QxBxRx) on February 4 at Glasslands Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Over its five-year history, the popular monthly has welcomed rising indie acts like Making Friends, The Ruffians Arms and Little Victory—and hopped boroughs from Brooklyn to Manhattan and back to Brooklyn, where its been held at Public Assembly and Glasslands over the last year. As hipster go-go boys shimmied their lanky frames on Saturday, a capacity crowd of  fags, dykes and trans folk crammed into the venue to rock out one last time to Ruffian Arms, People At Parties and Baby Your Baby. Sadly, Martini tells Queerty no plans for a new party are in the works.

Well, we guess it’s better to burn out that fade away.
