Say what you will about HBO’s Looking, but we have high hopes for season two. There were some standout moments during the debut season (such as this and this and this), and we’re looking forward to seeing where the show’s creative team takes the story. That, and San Francisco is just about as sexy of a television character as you’ll ever find.
The cast has been all over town the last few weeks shooting (it’s like SF’s very own Law & Order), as evidenced by taking a peek at the stars’ Instagram feeds:
Jonathan Groff tries to lick his way to the center of Russell Tovey:
Raul Castillo takes a break and chats with some young’ns on set:

But busy shooting schedules doesn’t mean all work and no play.
Jonathan and Russell have also been seen around town with SF drag mama extraordinaire Juanita More.
Here’s Russell at the 4-year anniversary party of Juanita’s Beatpig party at the Powerhouse:
And over in the Castro, Juanita and Jonathan (along with DLB and Sister Roma) attended gay rights activist Cleve Jones’ bday party:

Russell Tovey has made ‘Looking’ a whole lot more interesting! He is so sexy, looking forward to the upcoming episodes!
Kenover
This show manages to make gay life in San Francisco seem boring and hum-drum. It captures nothing about the city’s culture except the greed and soulless anomie of SOMA tech bros. Give me Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City any day. At least he understood San Francisco’s quirky singularity. And his characters weren’t whiny and annoying and dull.
Kenover
@Kenover: BTW, they’re filming in front of my house tomorrow. Maybe I can give them some notes.

@restoretherainbow:
Me too! I love the show and very happy LOOKING is returning. I don’t feel the characters are anything but dull, annoying and whiny as Kenover stated. Tovey is a sexy guy! I hope Scott Bakula returns at least for some episodes. He is also one sexy guy! The more gay shows, the better, check out “Vicious” on PBS…It is hilarious!
NJjoe
@Kenover:
Let us know how it went.

@NJjoe
Yes! Yes! Yes!
TinoTurner
They lost me when the first 30 seconds of the first episode was of an awkward/hopeless romantic/boy next door type giving head to a stranger in a park. YEAH…thats what normal guys do….and yea, now straight people think thats what every gay guy does. Way to keep them stereotypes going!
stranded
Damn. I don’t’ see O.T. Fagbenle, he played Frank, Augustin’s boyfriend. I was really hoping they would write him back into the series and not just write him off. I liked him more than Augustin
Faulk
Can’t wait for season 2, i love everything about it 🙂
Slash
For me the hottest guy to grace this show was the two second cameo of Scott Evans. I was so hoping that was a sign that he would somehow come back with a higher role in season two but dammit it looks like that’s not happening.

@TinoTurner: Whether it was the writers’ intention or not, it just shows ONE REPRESSED, POST-ADOLESCENT, MISGUIDED, EMOTIONALLY IMMATURE,”awkward/hopeless romantic/boy next door type [with the intention to] giving head to a stranger in a park!”
enlightenone
@stranded: Although the writers’ gave him the best last lines; “diversity” has a different meaning this time around.
enlightenone
@Slash: His has a quality, worthy of his talent, role on NCIS New Orleans! Are you watching???
enlightenone
@Slash: Sorry, wrong “Scott.”
teddy55
@TinoTurner: Straight people do that too. Ever heard of Hugh Grant?
shakes_head
For a city that’s 1/3 Asian, I guess they didn’t want to include any in the central cast. Did the casting agent take their cues from Grindr assholes?
Stache99
@Kenover: I guess by culture you mean those that can afford it.
Stache99
@TinoTurner:Horrible isn’t it. I hated Queer as folk for the same reason. I mean all those straight people thinking all we do is wear great clothes and go clubbing every night while doing drugs and having tons of great sex.
Stache99
@TinoTurner: To this day I won’t talk to any Italians. We all know their part of the mafia after watching years of the Saprano’s.
Stache99
@shakes_head: What is the show. Affirmative action? This is something that really upsets you? Lol I think they have a Hispanic and an Indian guy on it.
AdrianS
bad, bad, boring show. and Raúl Castillo is so homely.
SportGuy
The show is pathetic and sucks so hard, and not in a good way. Lets make a show set in san fran but remove all people of color or maybe throw one or two in there so we don’t catch grief for it. Shows like this are pathetic and won’t make it past a couple season, thank goodness.
Gigi Gee
@restoretherainbow: I just started watching Russel Tovey in the UK version of Being Human. He’s so young but brilliant!!
NJjoe
@Kenover:
No update on filming in front of your house? Do you really live in San Francisco?
