It’s “fresh,” Rippon describes his new relationship with Jussi-Pekka Kajaala, who lives in Finland. “I’m fresh!”
Rippon tells People the pair have “been talking for the past seven months” after meeting Tindr, and then “started to hang out a little bit more, because we were both really busy.”
Then earlier this month, they made it official. And earlier this week, they went public with it.
First, Adam:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Then Jussi-Pekka:
So who is this Jussi-Pekka Kajaala guy anyway?
Well, unlike his super famous boyfriend, he’s not a world class Olympic figure skater. According to his Facebook page, he’s just a regular guy who works for a real estate firm. And based on his Instagram photos, he appears to enjoy traveling, working out, relaxing by the pool, and spending time with his adorable french bulldog.
Scroll down for a sampling of images from Jussi-Pekka’s Instagram page…

So is Queerty the Gay National Inquirer now? This is gross and intrusive. If you want to know about the guy/couple, why not interview them? Isn’t that what journalists are supposed to do?
This is a gross invasion of privacy. And geez- they are only dating. Get a grip, Mr David Grant.
happiness17
I agree with you. I also wonder if Rippon let it be known to the media about his new boyfriend. It keeps his name in the news. It also makes him look better being with such a stud Kajalaala.
DCguy
Please detail out EXACTLY how it is an invasion of privacy to report that these two people are stating PUBLICLY that they are dating.
Dimnar
Gross invasion of piracy? WTF are you talking about man, you sound crazy.
Adam Rippon went to People to announce he was dating this guy. These are pics from his public instagram account.
Troyfight
^ yeah, it’s all public. All of it. Not sure what the big effing deal is, jd.cali…??
jd.cali
I stand by my comments… It’s cyber stalking at the highest level. Posting a dozen pics on a public website on a celebrity’s boyfriend is totally stalking. And yes, they are public posts, but so are millions of others. Few have their history splashed all over a queer web page.
Weird stalking. Bad journalism. But this website is just a blog. The authors only post other people’s work. So it’s no surprise.
Donston
This is indeed a gossip site. I don’t know where you’d get the idea that this is “beneath” this site. And Adam already put the guy’s image and name out there on his social media and during an interview. Post this guys public social media is the next basic step for a site like this.
Bryguyf69
Gross invasion? Stalking? Your clearly clueless as to what those concepts mean. First of all, if you’d bother to read carefully, you’d see that they BOTH went public with the news. But more importantly, get a grip on the new REALITY of social media. This is not a matter of hidden cameras or intrusive paparazzi. These are PUBLICLY available photos MEANT TO BE SHARED! Unlike you, I’ll use logic and evidence here:
1) both parties can set their accounts to private if they don’t want the photos to viewed publicly. Yet their accounts are PUBLIC. What does that tell you? Duh!
2) Instagram has SHARE and EMBED functions for each public photo. If they didn’t want their fans to share the photos, why would they use a site with a SHARE feature? Duh!
In fact, if you knew anything about millennials and social media culture (and I can provide the studies), you’d realize that the number of shares is a sort of validation — thus a compliment — for users. In other words, they want shares!
3) if you knew anything about modern journalism and the New Media, you’d realize that EMBEDding photos, tweets and videos is valid journalism. And that’s exactly what Queerty did here. They did not give second-hand descriptions or doctored images, but actually linked (aka embed) to the original source. That is RESPONSIBLE journalism.
These are the actual photos and text as posted by the subjects. And because they are embedded and NOT COPIED, the subjects have FULL CONTROL over the images. If they delete or edit the photos, the changes would be seen immediately in this article. Can you say that about traditional newspapers?
Giving the source CONTINUED full control of their images — that’s a gross invasion of privacy?
Seriously, educate yourself before writing a rant that just illustrates your ignorance. It’s evident that you know little about modern journalism, social media, millennials, privacy laws, cyberstalking — and Queerty. Pretty embarrassing. THINK about it.
Bryguyf69
happiness17,
So? What’s your point? That’s a celebrity wants publicity? No shit, Sherlock!
And FYI, Rippon is way more popular than Kajaala, and has plenty of studly men wanting to date him. So how exactly does dating an unknown person make Rippon look better? Indeed, being single would likely invite more publicity as fans speculate over his dating status and possible boyfriends. Furthermore, if Rippon didn’t make this public, don’t you think that the press or fans would eventually have photos of the two in public? So why not control the narrative?
THINK about it.
Bryguyf69
jd.cali,
Here’s a clue for you. Click on the photos. See how it directs you to the actual source on Instagram? That’s known as EMBEDDING, and not just “posting.” It is RESPONSIBLE journalism, and even more deferential than quoting or screen captures since it gives the source FULL and CONTINUED control over the contents. If the source is edited or deleted, the changes would immediately be seen here. Clued in now? You’re welcome.
adam_stevens
Invasion of privacy? B-b-but, these are photos published for all the world to see by the people in the photos themselves.
The stupid is so thick here I can barely consider you human. Barely.
barkomatic
Wow, what a handsome couple! @jd.cali–Since Adam Rippon announced the relationship and probably discussed it with his boyfriend beforehand I’m guessing they are ok with these public profile pics being published. There is really nothing scandalous in them.
frankcar1965
Umm… yea what did you think it was, Haute Literature? Get a clue.
Ashke113
Does anyone really care?
barkomatic
Celebrity gossip can be fun–and you cared enough to click on the title and post. Probably looked at the pics too. . .
ChrisK
Not really. I’m just here for the comments. Haha
DCguy
Says the account that clicked on the article, read the article, and commented on the article.
Troyfight
^when their leaked, versatile sex videos emerge…yes we will, Ashke.
Bryguyf69
Ashke113, well you clicked on the article and even commented. Or was the title not explicit enough for you to realize that this was about Adam Rippon? Hypocrite.
The arrogance of your comment amazes me because of just stating that YOU don’t care, you asked if ANYONE cared. Talk about extrapolating your own opinion into others.
And FYI, sites like Queerty make money and gauge interest by the number of clicks and web traffic. By clicking on the article –despite the descriptive title — and posting, you’re just encouraging more articles about Adam Rippon.
Me thinks the lady doth protest too much!
ingyaom
I feel like I just cyber-stalked this guy. Sorry, pal.
MikeE
Isn’t Tinder a straight dating app?
PinkoOfTheGange
Nope, and you have more of a chance for a little conversation, or even drinks, with the hook up.
Jack Meoff
Already getting over all the Adam Rippon articles, is this how it’s going to be now?
Bryguyf69
Then don’t click and comment on them. Sites like Queerty make money and gauge interest by the number of clicks and web traffic. By clicking on the article –despite the descriptive title — and posting, you’re just encouraging more articles about Adam Rippon. Simple, no?
happiness17
I would go with Lippon’s boyfriend in a minute. He’s quite the stud. As for Lippon I wouldn’t want to go with him. It would be like screwing around with a woman.
DCguy
Interesting, the troll accounts certainly HATE any out and proud lgbt person.
Donston
You need to face the reality that, yes, there are troll accounts here but also, a decent percentage of gay and gay-leaning men are simply filled with internalized homophobia and self-resentment and are going to hate on any out celeb. However, I can see why some find Adam annoying. He doesn’t bother me nearly as much as some others who get frequently posted on here. I like him for the most part. But I do get the annoyance.
BCBinOHP
I agree with Donston……I’m not yet a “troll” but not a millennial either (but my BF is), so please don’t categorize gay men’s feelings/thoughts/pride based on their age but rather their stance on said matters. I think Adam is a breath of fresh air, and adorable, and I’m proud he’s one of us. If I were a str8 man, or self absorbed, internalized homo like many here, I would be so sick of him taking attention away from myself and my wants/needs.
This just in, if you don’t like the pics and columns here (including Adam, scroll down now to “unsubscribe” and click that immediately, then return back to your nail polish, hair curlers, and your must-see TV the Young and the Restless. Keep bitching it up queens, but its not good for your Botox or your blood pressure…….
MonkeyMan
Call me cynical, but dating Adam Rippon is a really great career move even if you aren’t into him at all.
I’ll leave it at that.
Donston
There are a lot of guys into twinkier, more effeminate pretty guys. They don’t need potential fame to be intrigued.
Donston
Also, as much as this site promotes sex and olging are you guys seriously deleteing comments where someone compliments someone’s ass? Are we doing that now?
tdh1980
I don’t find this man as attractive as conventional wisdom would assume that I should. Eh. To each his own.
baal61
It’s his affair right’ I don’t care.
Bryguyf69
I’m not normally into men but I have to say, Kajaala is an impeccable dresser. That photo of him in the office is perfect. That shirt, the tie, the watch. Wow. Other Instagram photos also show his impeccable taste, especially the one in a beige coat. Looks like quite a neat freak too.
BCBinOHP
“Not normally into men”…..does this mean you are normally into little boys?? Just joking about the little boys, as much as you are joking yourself (but not us) about not normally into men. Plllleeeeeease
jd.cali
OMG- stop! Tell us another one. You are cracking us up!!!
o.codone
I love Adam, but I could pass on the BF. Nothing burger. Not even with mayo. I’ll pass.
Onecaddy13
Goddddd!!! Adan Rippon again??? I agree with the majority. The Olympics are over, he’s now irrelevant but still wants the 15 minutes. Adam is too much of a girlie girl (my opinion) and his alleged new “friend” would destroy him. Finland is a long way away. Fake news. Come on Queerty, let’s move on to new business.
