Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis is the new face of antigay Christian hypocrisy. She’s been “invoking God’s authority” by denying gay couples marriage licenses for weeks while at the same time concealing the fact that, once upon a time, she was pregnant by her third husband while still married to her first, and she’s currently on Husband #4, who may or may not have also been Husband #2. (The details are a little fuzzy.)

Isn’t it amazing that Big Kim (@KimDavis #KimDavis) can get married four times, via her chosen man-made religious cult! Her “god” must be So proud! Holiness? NOT! Is this who southern Pentecostals want as their PR mascot??? â? ï¸Better lock up your snakes & chickens! Obviously she loves food ……Let’s through pies in her face like Anita Bryant ….who’s with me?
She also has twins by her third husband born five months after her divorce from her first husband and claimed by her second husband. And she’s afraid of the Lord’s retribution for granting gays a marriage license?
Government Employees Have No â??Religious Freedomâ?? Right To Refuse Service To Same-Sex Couples, Says Americans United
Jul 8, 2015 â?? Clerks Must Issue Marriage Licenses To All Qualified Couples, Church-State Watchdog Says
Government employees who oppose marriage equality because of their religious beliefs are not entitled to refuse service to same-sex couples, Americans United for Separation of Church and State has informed officials in all 50 states today.
In a letter released today, which will be sent to all state attorneys general as well as county clerks in Texas and South Dakota, Americans United explains that with marriage equality now the law of the land, government employees do not have the right to opt out of serving gay couples, because doing so would harm those couples and violate their constitutional rights.
â??As Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the U.S. Supreme Courtâ??s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, there is dignity in marriage for all couples,â? said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United. â??But government officials who refuse to serve same-sex couples are taking away that dignity.â?
The letter was prompted by a recent memo from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and a statement by South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley, who suggested that government employees may be allowed a religious exemption from serving same-sex couples.
In its memo, Americans United says the Constitution makes no such allowance.
â??As with an interracial couple, imposing such burdens on a same-sex couple would burden, demean, and stigmatize the couple in a manner that violates the Constitution and other laws. Thus, allowing accommodations in these circumstances would subject government entities and officials to legal liability,â? asserts the AU document.
Said Americans United Senior Litigation Counsel Gregory M. Lipper: â??The Supreme Court meant what it said. Any same-sex couple denied service by a government official should contact Americans Unitedâ??s legal department. We stand ready to represent same-sex couples whose rights are violated on account of religion.â?
This action is part of Americans Unitedâ??s new project, Protect Thy Neighbor, which seeks to stop religious-based discrimination against LGBT persons and others.
The letter was written by Lipper with assistance from AU Associate Legal Director Alex J. Luchenitser, and Madison Fellows Zachary A. Dietert and Natacha Y. Lam. (Lam is admitted in New York only, and is supervised by Lipper.)
Americans United is a religious liberty watchdog group based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1947, the organization educates Americans about the importance of church-state separation in safeguarding religious freedom.

I am gay so I want someone to give me a response with proof to back it up. In Leviticus 18:22, we all know it says a man should not lie with a man as he does a woman, as it is an abomination. Oxymoronic if you ask me. How can a man lie with man as he would a woman if: 1) he is gay, he wouldn’t most likely ever lie with a woman. 2) how can you lie with a man as you do a woman since she has a vagina? If you are a man and you lie with another man, there isn’t a vagina to put your penis in, only an ass (or mouth, mentioned later in this), so that isn’t like with a woman. 3) a mouth is not a vagina either but men constantly put their penis in a woman’s mouth, and even a woman’s ass, which means she isn’t lying with a man as she should, she is lying with a man who loves putting it in an ass, so he might be actually bi. 4) That bible book never mentions a woman shouldn’t lie with a woman as she does a man, so being a lesbian in God’s eyes is actually ok? 5) Can anyone prove God’s existence? I can prove there is not only a Constitution with no mention of God or religion and to follow them both per the bible, but can also prove that SCOTUS gave a law to says it is unlawful to discrimate on marriage equality as that would be unconstitutional. Ok, now let’s see what sayeth you all.

@Annette Phillips: I’m so so glad someone made an epic twilight zone reference. GOOD ON YOU!
heyblinken
We live in a country under the rule of law, and all laws are to be enforced equally, when anyone chooses to decide they will not follow a law, they are to be punished. But for the
last 6 years, we have had a president and Attorney General who decided to ignore Federal judges and refuse to comply with their rulings. They set the standard, if they feel they can violate the law, then why should they have the authority to demand anyone else follow any laws? If the law doesn’t apply across the board, then it ceases to be LAW. Demanding 1 segment of the population follow the letter of the law while the other segment feels justified in violating any law it chooses is insanity. This woman did nothing different than the POTUS or AG, we cannot judge her differently than we do the WH.
Giancarlo85
@heyblinken: Oh look here… it’s a republican. Someone who constantly ignores the persistent abuses of the republican party. The republican party continues to ignore the Supreme Court which has time and time again upheld Obamacare (ACA). The President has never ignored a federal judge, and I challenge your little tiny mind to come up with an instance where he has done so.
Republicans, however, have consistently ignored and challenged the authority of the US Supreme Court by attacking Obamacare, even though they basically lost every legal battle on that issue.
You are a liar and you have not cited any examples of the President breaking the law. So tell me what laws the President violated? If he violated any laws, republicans would be all over that and pushing immediate impeachment in the Congress. They don’t have a case. In fact, Obama has enough support in Congress to push his agenda right through. Seems to me you’re wrong.
“This woman did nothing different than the POTUS or AG, we cannot judge her differently than we do the WH.”
Again, you have zero proof of that. You are nothing more than a liar who hasn’t given a single example of where the President or Attorney General have violated any law. If anything, I gave a clear example where republicans have consistently showed clear disregard towards the top Court in this nation.
Where does all these right wing dingbats come from anyway? Same old tired lines, same old bullshit.
scotshot
@Alistair Wiseman: Whatever it is, it’s lame.
Giancarlo85
Right wingers be gone! This is a progressive website. Not a site for your regurgitated crap you heard on Fox News. I have never seen a republican tell me what law Obama violated. That is because Obama hasn’t… and if he did, the Congress would be all over it and pushing impeachment proceedings.

@Giancarlo85:
Need some examples?
• In both the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, the Obama campaign purposely disabled the credit card verification system for its Web site donations, allowing anyone from any foreign country to donate with no limit and no proof of identity; in both elections it was demonstrated that people overseas and people with obviously false identities were able to donate to Obama campaign, in direct violation of several laws. To this day it is not known what percentage of Obama’s campaign funds are illegally obtained, since there is no documentation.
• An intentional refusal to enforce federal immigration laws.
• Operation Fast & Furious — a government-sponsored illegal gun-running scheme designed to purposely go awry so as to induce public outcry for gun control.
• Militarily intervened in Libya in 2011 without the Congressional approval required by the War Powers Act — technically an impeachable offense.
• Illegally ending the welfare-to-work requirements passed by Congress.
• Violated the U.S. Constitution by authorizing assassinations and drone strikes to kill American citizens abroad — without due process.
• When states tried to stop election fraud with voter ID laws, Obama sued to prevent them from doing so.
• Instructed Attorney General Eric Holder to stonewall any investigation into the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panthers.
• Used the IRS to harass conservative businesses.
• In the GM bailout, he illegally shortchanged investors who according to bankruptcy laws were first in line to be recompensed; instead, he gave their share to the unions.
• More than once Obama made so-called “recess appointments” when the Senate was not actually in recess, which directly violates Constitutional rules about how appointments must be made; in each case it was his way of getting his political allies into certain key positions without them being vetted or approved by the Senate, as required.
Do you want me to continue?
scotshot
@Alistair Wiseman: A second lame post. Should we be honored?
If President Obama, his administration or campaign organization had actually acted in any way illegally he would have been indicted, impeached, and sent to prison.
But, hey thanks for the rehash of right wing talking points and conspiracy theories.
Keep visiting this site, we need comic relief.
Alistair Wiseman
@scotshot:
Well, I’m glad to see you think President George W. Bush acted in a legal and ethical way. After all, by your own definition “he would have been indicted, impeached, and sent to prison.”
You are quite naïve in the ways of how Washington, D.C. works.
Even impeached President Clinton did not do jail time.
In fact, by your own definition, virtually all of our presidents have fulfilled their presidencies in an ethical, moral and virtuous manner.
“Comic relief”, indeed.

@Alistair Wiseman: Except you have no proof for any of that and that is all conservative right wing bullshit. Where is your REAL proof? And not a lousy copy and paste job with alleged accusations. Stupid garbage that has no real evidence.
” In both the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, the Obama campaign purposely disabled the credit card verification system for its Web site donations”
NO proof of that. That never happened.
“An intentional refusal to enforce federal immigration laws.”
Which is why Obama deported more people in four years than George W. Bush did in eight years.
“Militarily intervened in Libya in 2011 without the Congressional approval required by the War Powers Act — technically an impeachable offense.”
Incorrect. He had authorization and that was done under “Police Action”. Not an impeachable offense. Please don’t post bullshit. Congress approved of such action through various funding appropriations for such ventures to take place. The War Powers Act is irrelevant to that.
“Illegally ending the welfare-to-work requirements passed by Congress.”
No proof of that one either.
“Violated the U.S. Constitution by authorizing assassinations and drone strikes to kill American citizens abroad”
None for that claim either. If American citizens were in the taliban or other terrorist groups, and they were killed in strikes… that isn’t a violation. They were actively fighting against the US government.
And the last five claims had no proof for that either.
No, I don’t want you to continue posting copy and paste bullshit that lacks substance. You haven’t cited any proof for any of your incorrect claims. If there was a case for impeachment, it would have been pushed.
Your pea-brained mind doesn’t see that. You have no evidence as I expected. Just more idiotic rambunctious claims you can’t possibly prove.
Giancarlo85
@Evji108: It’s all politically motivated shit. There isn’t actually any evidence Obama ever violated the US constitution. It all stinks like dog shit. This is what Alistair is famous for… he’s too lazy to come up with his own argument so he copy and pastes from some bullshit website. And this time he has never posted where he got the information.
And the republican party has violated the Constitution quite clearly multiple times, including with shutting down the government which borderlines on treason. They also illegally mailed out a letter to the Iranian government.
GODISINCONTROL
@Ken Shepherd: I don’t think you are looking for actual conversation but you are looking for a fight. I will just say up front that gays misunderstand God. He does love you in spite of what you think about Him. He just does not put up with sin, any sin. Anger, hatred, violence, lust, cheating (on taxes, spouses, etc.), greed, you name it.So God doesn’t have a vendeta against gays only as you might think. He is holy and wants a relationship with you and me. But we have to become holy first. But we never can. That is why Jesus came. So he could be sin for us that we might receive the righteousness of God in Him. But you have to come to Him on His terms, not yours. And that is where the problem lies. As for some of the things you said you wanted proven, first; common sense would suggest that when God talks about “lying down” it is a euphemism for sex. You can then come to a logical conclusion that God is saying he doesn’t want two men having sex. That negates not just the first, but the second and third argument you made since he is not talking about the sexual parts (even though the anus is not a sexual part, it is a couple of sphincters designed to stop your intestines from dropping out). Now I will concede you may have a point on oral sex. I cannot say for sure. I wrestled with that too, but not in the way you did as you are saying it is a non comparison because a man is not a woman. that doesn’t fly because the principle is the same across the board.
Second, women are just as culpable as men. Romans 1:26-27 demonstrates that lesbianism is also one of the reasons God allowed their sin to become utterly sinful.
And no one can “prove” the existence of God. Try to prove Plato, or pharaoh Amenhotep, or King Darius, or King Artaxerxes. How much proof do you have of their existence? Show me the evidence. Because that same evidence is minuscule to the testimonies of thousands of documents uncovered, and archaeological digs that time after time authenticate the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation throughout the Middle East, along with a literal history of the literal Israel who served Yahweh (the God of all creation). So if the basis of proof is the historical evidence, then God can be proven through it in the same way that the others mentioned can be proven. You weren’t there. You can’t see them. You just take the documents and artifacts at face value.
And just because a government makes something lawful does not make it righteous. It is still sin at the end of the day. Getting drunk is a sin, but alcohol is legal and we even have bars selling alcohol to people past 2am. And they go home three sheets to the wind. But the fact that it is lawful for bars to sell alcohol to drivers and that late at night does not make it right. It gets people killed unnecessarily.
Look, God wants a relationship with everyone n this webpage in spite of the childish rebellion like childishly making fun of a woman who has a fundamental disagreement with you. And you rejoice in memes designed not only to shoot down her beliefs (which she is entitled to whether the law allows it or not), but to to make fun of her looks, her hair, her age, everything. This looks like Kindergarten all over again. Rejoicing in putting others down is a sin. So by rule you are guilty. But God, in spite of your hateful actions, still came to die for you so you can be forgiven and enter a relationship with the One who created you to be with Him forever, Jesus Christ.
scotshot
@GODISINCONTROL: I imagine people here (mostly gay) who believe in god are doing just fine with their beliefs, and really don’t need or want you as a person to come witness for it. Anything you and others state is merely your interpretation of events which may or may not have happened a couple of thousands years ago to ignorant Iron Age shepherds in the desert. Most – if not all – of the bible is collection of anecdotes. There is no proof any of it happened, especially if you consider the fact that most christian holidays were appropriated from other, much older Pagan religions which have the same chance of being real as christianity.
One note: there is an absolute chance that the human being Plato and others existed as opposed to your Supernatural sky god. You’ve made a false analogy.
I imagine that you along with others who have posted believe you’re doing god’s work. I believe you have a greater chance of doing god’s work if you go volunteer to help any of the millions who are suffering in America today. I am dumbfounded that you and others in your crowd have left so many in pain.
IF YOU WANT TO STATE THAT YOU ARE CHRISTIAN, GO OUT INTO THE WORLD AND DO GOD’S WORK HELPING OTHERS.
Giancarlo85
@GODISINCONTROL: Oh wow. A bunch of religious blabbering. How is your god any more valid than any of the other gods out there? What about Zeus, Apollo, Ra, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster?
Jesus this, jesus that… the bible was written by men. Not by any god. The bible is a rip-off of other religious texts. So take your bible promoting somewhere else. There are billions in this world that do not subscribe to your fantasy.
“Because that same evidence is minuscule to the testimonies of thousands of documents uncovered, and archaeological digs that time after time authenticate the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation ”
Start naming this evidence. No such evidence exists. In fact there are many fakes and forgeries that were called evidence and were proven to be fraudulent. There is absolutely zero proof for the bible, or your god.
“So if the basis of proof is the historical evidence, then God can be proven through it in the same way that the others mentioned can be proven. ”
Again you have no proof for anything. You’re just spouting and foaming at the mouth.
“Look, God wants a relationship with everyone n this webpage in spite of the childish rebellion like childishly making fun of a woman who has a fundamental disagreement with you. ”
Why would I want a relationship with something that doesn’t even exist?
Take your evangelizing to some other website. I don’t even understand why you are on this website. People will not listen to your hatred and judgmental attitude.
“Rejoicing in putting others down is a sin. So by rule you are guilty. But God, in spite of your hateful actions”
Yet you’re basically putting down other people in your post…
You are a classic hypocrite, like most Christian cherry pickers. You cherry pick what you want to hear about your fictional book and claim the bible is true through this “mysterious” evidence (which you cannot name, nor does any such evidence exist). By the way, I would be careful about what you say. The bible is a rip off of prior texts (like the Epic of Gilgamesh). It also ripped off prior historical accounts to try to gain some credibility. It’s nothing more than a pile of plagiarized rhetoric suited more for people in the 2nd century. It’s the 21st century… so get with the times.
