Pink Raises Her Glass To The ‘Dirty Little Freaks,’ Including You Gays

We knew the music video for Pink’s “Raise Your Glass” would feature same-sex couples. What I didn’t know is that Katy Perry’s “Firework” would beat her to the self empowering trend (see: Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful”), where society’s cast offs (the fats! the gays! the nerds!) are told to celebrate themselves: “So raise your glass if you are wrong / In all the right ways / All my underdogs.” Messages of empowerment tied to catchy hooks? I’m in! Though with her line about “dirty little freaks,” me thinks she doth Lady Gaga “little monsters” too much.

      I like this song.
The lyrics of the chorus are kind of dumb, but it’s realllly catchy.

Pink is a fake gay advocate. She avoids showing male-male sensuality in her music videos.

@jason: there are two men kissing at a wedding reception in the video.

P!nk has a huge lesbian following, and i am one of them.

@jason: Shut up Jason. Damn, what a vapid, repetitive airhead you are. Just shut up. Your dissertations are not only stupid and pointless, but also a waste of bandwidth. Loser.

@jason: Did you have to practice at being an idiot or does it just come naturally?

@jason: Hon, try actually watching the video before you criticize. 24 seconds in we see the guys lock lips. You didn’t even give it 24 seconds?

I LOVE Pink! She’s such a gay icon and I hope she knows it and loves it…

Remember her song to Dr. Mr. President? She mentioned the gay community a few times in that song.

I feel Pink relates to both gay men and women…

PS…just checked the track list for Pink’s new Greatest Hits album and she’s missing Most Girls and Make me Sick! Those are two of my favorite Pink tracks!! : (

great song, glad to see an artist including some male-male affection (and glad it’s P!nk, she’s always been one of my faves, and terribly underrated, IMO).

it’s a fun little song, will download it soon.

Pink has ALWAYS been a strong advocate for her gay friends. On her very first CD, when they were hoping she’d be the next Britney or Christina, she had a song called “Do What You Do” which says “girl boy, boy girl, girl girl, boy boy, whatever – you should do what you do”. Or how about her song to President Bush that says, “What kind of father would take his own daughter’s rights away? And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?”

I’m glad to listen to the amazingly outspoken Lady Gaga and even to fake-gay-friend Katy Perry, but Pink from the beginning was never afraid to talk about empowering gays and she’s been doing it years before Lady Gaga became such a fabulous champion in her own right.

@jason: obviously, you… like many a homophobe, has already cast a judgement before even watching the video. Oh yea, and weren’t you the one that siad the video would feature a lesbian couple because that would gain her more publicity. I’m not at all sorry to say that you are wrong.

I’m really tired of all female pop stars being compared to Gaga. Having a vagina and making pop music does not automatically mean “Gaga knock-off.”

That said, I’ve always been a fan of P!nk! My computer is not allowing me to access the video (I’m having flash problems), but I am looking forward to seeing this!

Pink called out Katy Perry for her song “I Kissed A Girl”, saying that it was offensive to the gay community, but she has no problem with collaborating with Eminem, who’s been known to use Homophobic slurs in his songs. When she was asked about working with Eminem, she said; “I was always afraid he’d pick me as a target, but he’s always been nice to me and finally approached me to be on the album, so I must have done something right”. Since when has Eminem been an authoritarian on when somebody does “something right”? I’m sorry but, she is hypocritical and lame.

I think Jason is the same dude that said that about Gaga when her last video came out.
