Philadelphia, PA – Glitter and streamers fell from the sky as Pissi Myles (née Joe D’Angio) was crowned Philadelphia’s Next Drag Superstar when she beat out 14 other contestants over a 15-week cycle to win Season Four of Philly Drag Wars. D’Angio was personally invited to audition for the show by its host, Mimi Imfurst, a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race (season 3) and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.
“It’s a tremendous honor to have been crowned Philly’s next drag superstar,” said D’Angio in a recent interview, “After a very rewarding couple of months, I’m glad to have so many new friends and opportunities, and a very large box of Oreos.”
Crowned on the 12 appear as arm candy at a recent movie premiere, Pissi will be teaming up with noted Philly producer Josh Schonewolf in her own show, “Lipschtick: A Variety Hour,” which debuts on October 11th at L’Etage. Showcasing the big personality of Pissi Myles, the show will combine song, dance, comedy, and other “zany antics” for an evening of hilarity and debauchery. She’s also hosting “Mischief Night” with Eric Jaffe at Tavern on Carmac on October 30th. Plan to be scared out of your pants….
In addition to all of this excitement will be Pissi Myles star-spangled appearance at Philadelphia OUTFEST, where she will be appearing with Eric Jaffe on October 12th.
Meet Pissi Miles
Pissi Myles, season 4 winner of Philly Drag Wars and Miss Fish NYC 2014, is a relative newcomer to the drag scene, putting on her first face in 2012. She attributes her success in drag to years of experience acting and singing on stage…and of course, Bette Midler and Broadway show tunes are among her top favorites. Both Joe and Pissi are available for bookings. He does Christmas Carolling; she’s more relevant after dark (the light is more flattering).
