Best Workout Tip: Don’t compare yourself to ANYONE else. We all have our own journey and need to focus our time and energy on our individual goals. Success isn’t achieved by looking at the person next to you, it’s achieved by looking within yourself.

How do you balance staying and shape and having fun?

One word, MODERATION. If I want a treat, I eat it. I never try to deprive myself of anything. I enjoy maintaining a healthy lifestyle while enjoying the best things that life has to offer.

What do you keep on your nightstand?

A bottle of water and my Pikachu piggybank!

Are you able to control the weight you're lifting throughout the entire range of motion? Are you utilizing and engaging the intended muscles for the exercise you're performing? I find alot of the times that people don't pay attention to either of these important concepts. First off controlling the weight you are lifting throughout the entire range of motion allows you to engage your muscles not only through the concentric portion of the lift, but also through the eccentric portion. Not to mention having complete control of the weight helps in preventing injury by maintaining proper form! Now concentrating on each rep allows you to squeeze and utilize the muscles to their maximum capacity. I tell all of my clients, lift with a purpose and lift with an intention. If you are doing a bicep curl, think about that muscle pulling the weight up and concentrate on squeezing that muscle at the peak of the motion to maximize the efficiency of your rep! In this video I'm demonstrating a fluid deadlift with a nice chest pop/back and glute squeeze at the peak. Focus on breath, focus on control and concentrate on the motion!
