Police have now opened an investigation into the death of bisexual rapper Lil Peep

Earlier this month, we reportedrapper Lil Peep died at the age of 21 by way of a suspected drug overdose.

Now, a report from TMZ claims police are opening an investigation after discovering “troubling private messages” on his phone.

Authorities are particularly interested in texts from a woman seen on a tour bus with the rapper not long before his death.

Apparently, a group text includes this message from her:

“GBC [Lil Peep] high af because of me and my friend lol”

“He passed the fuck out. My brother called and I tried to get him to say hi to my brother, but he wouldn’t wake up.”

Before his death, Lil Peep posted an Instagram vid in which he claimed to have ingested “six Xanax, and now it’s lit.”

Police suspect the Xanax was also laced with fentanyl.

Initially, a medical examiner said the rapper’s cause of death was an overdose, but six to eight weeks would be needed before toxicology results came back.
