In the grand tradition of gay porn models of yesteryear appearing on the reality junk television shows of today, former Straight Guys For Gay Eyes (NSFW) model Johnny Walsh has been cast as himself on WE’s Marriage Boot Camp.
Walsh, now going by his legal name Shaun, appeared in two scenes at the “gay for pay” studio in 2009, once in a solo scene and once having bareback sex with a woman. @GeriHew: actually, you’re wrong, kind of… The “rebranding” was done without Jake’s knowledge by a VOD company he’d licensed the movies to. He talked about that in an interview once. His site is still called “straight guys for gay eyes.”

@Niall: Jake Cruise did a few of those “Straight for pay” scenes and apparently they sold ok but the biggest problem was all the gay guys who didn’t want to watch it threw a hissy fit that it existed at all, which is a bit hypocritical. You want people to think your way of having sex it ok and dump on other people who don’t do things you like.
fuck, now I sound like Jake’s lackey. I didn’t like SG4GE either, but in that same interview he said that it made money but the main reason he did that site was to find straight guys who were willing to do gay as well. They’d make their first porn and see what that was like so it would be easier to do a gay porn and it was also a good way of talking guys into doing shoots. Apparently they’d come down and do a few gay scenes and a solo and the straight scene was like a “bonus” for them.
Hate on Jake all you want but he’s not a bad businessman if he’s still going after all these years.

If I remember, the models Jake Cruise used in his scenes, were gay for pay actors who had mostly done loads of gay porn, but didn’t identify as gay, however they were popular amongst gay guys. If you’ve got a link to the scenes where he actually used real gay actors in straight scenes, then I’d love to see it, as it’s something I’ve been slightly curious about.

@glasshole: I would take what Jake Cruise says in interviews with a pinch of salt. But if it wasn’t his idea to re-brand his “straight porn for gay” eyes as “for women too” then he should really thank the VOD company for doing it because it was obviously a very good idea.

Sold as for women too it gets more and higher viewer ratings. I cross checked other titles in the series to see if this is a consistent pattern. And it is. When this content is sold as “For Women” on a porn for women website it sells better. And that means a lot more money for Mr Cruise, as he gets a 20% cut on every pay-per-view sale.

But to go back to your point about watching straight porn, with straight porn, especially American-made straight porn, the focus is too much on the woman. SG4GE was made for the focus to be on the man. So while I have criticized Jake Cruise and Steven Daigle for their actions, the premise of the site was NOT a “shit idea”. The thought of it being a “shit idea” comes from a lacking in maturity to appreciate the beauty of ALL human sexuality, regardless of gender and orientation. Especially straight sex when without it, NONE OF US would be here.
With that said, I remember Johnny Walsh’s (Shaun’s) scene. He looked like he had that biker-edge like straight pornstar Mark Ashley. And it’s a shame he looks like a roided-up boozer now. Because back then I would have gave it up to him. Now, she can keep him.

@LeNair Xavier: Actually my point was besides Steven Daigle which I acknowledged above and now Arpad Miklos, I cannot remember any actual gay stars used. What I do remember was guys who had done gay for pay and were famous for gay porn, but were actually straight- like AJ Irons were the ones that appeared in those films. If you’ve got more, I really would like to see as I looked all over the internet, but can’t find more examples.
As for Jake Cruise, I find it pointless. There’s actually a lot of porn especially in recent times now where there’s just as much focus on the men as the women and I found that hotter than anything Jake Cruise ever made. In fact the difference between SG4GE and those kind of porn films is that Jake Cruise’s site interviews the guys before the action starts, which is pointless to me as I really don’t give a rats ass what the guy has to say and how straight he is and how he’s never done this before.
I’ve seen a few of the SG4GE vids and I didn’t see any more of the guy than I did in your average modern porn movie, except maybe for some of the guys getting rimmed, which as a gay guy, I don’t understand why that is appealing, though as a woman I can understand. So besides the fact that we get to hear the guy talk at the beginning(big whoop), I don’t even see how it’s more guy focused- I still got mostly the same amount of guy flesh I get in the straight porn movies I sometimes watch. And it is a shit idea, that was executed even more shiteously. In the vast majority of straight porn, there’s barely a view of the guy’s face. It’s all focused on the women and the men are barely in frame. With the SG4GE scenes, the guy is fully in frame and the women are edged out to the side. In a lot of them the women were wearing clothes. I liked it because I do like seeing straight guys get off. It’s a thing. I honestly like gay porn with just gay men the most but sometimes I’m in the mood for other stuff. Like most people, I think.
They also did a Bi scene that had two separate edits, one that showed action only between the guys with the girl and one that showed action between the two guys. I dunno why but I liked the one where the guys kissed and blew each other in front of the girl better.

@glasshole: I never denied that in the majority of gay porn, the focus is still the woman, but like I said you can still find LOADS of videos out there that are straight but still male focused. Google Hakan Serbes, a lot of his vids are old and he did straight porn, but I still saw as much of him in the vid as I did of the guys in most of SG4GE vids, in fact he even gets fingered in a few vids and those were from close to 10 years ago. Maybe it’s just the straight porn I watch, as I see enough of the guys to get me off. Maybe another slight difference is no shots of the vagina.
And the women in the SG4GE vids do eventually get to removing their clothes, it’s not like they keep them on forever.
Straight porn can be an interesting alternative too, no doubt, but my point still remains that SG4GE did not only fail to do anything you haven’t seen before if you look well, they also went about it in a rubbish wat.

@litper: I absolutely disagree. I am a very out and proud 30 something gay, and I had a huge thing for Cody Cummings in straight(ish) porn for the longest time. I also really liked Tommy D in straight, gay and bisexual scenes. Sexuality is fluid, its no us versus them. I think the average straight guy has at least one gay fantasy rather he would admit it or not, and I’m not adverse to being attracted to a lady (even to the banging stage) if the right opportunity ever presented itself.
I think gay guys that feel the intense need to label themselves gay and only think happy gay thoughts are missing out, but I’m not going to judge them on that. My life partner was married for 30 years to a woman.

@Niall: It is just the videos that you watch. Rocco Sigfredi was a big name that was a straight “cross over” star that had a huge gay audience. This dude, while hot, was also aligned with Rocco and tapped into the same audience. That is far from the majority of the straight porn.
