Porn Producer Stabbed, Burned, Dead

Police have ruled the Wednesday morning death of porn producer Bryan Charles Kocis aka (Bryan Phillips) a homicide. Fire fighters discovered the forty-four year olds body among the remains of his burned down house. While on the surface it may seem like a standard accident, investigators believe Kocis had been stabbed before his killer or killers lit the house alight to cover their tracks. Edge Boston reports:

Kocis was identified by dental records during an autopsy on Thursday, Luzerne County Coroner Dr. John Consalvo said. He ruled the death a homicide.

Consalvo said Kocis died from multiple stab wounds and was dead before the fire broke out. The coroner based his determination on the absence of burnt particles in the victim’s pharyngeal airway and lungs.

“There were multiple stab wounds to the body, to the torso and neck, and we believe that the victim was dead at the time of the fire.

Someone obviously meant business.

A neighbor described him as quiet and also told reporters from Times Leader that he often had young men over for parties:

I knew what he was involved in unfortunately, it was not nice at all. All the time we saw him he would wear the same aviator glasses, baseball cap and jeans. He wouldn’t say hello to anybody. He would just keep to himself.

I know his background so I’m not totally shocked. He had boys over all the time, young boys.

It seems young boys have been a constant in Kocis’ adult life: cops nabbed him for having and video-taping sex with a 15-year old boy he met in online.

While there are no leads in the case, one witness reports seeing a Black SUV at the scene right before the fire alarms sounded. And, to add a little intrigue, Cobra video has a lawsuit pending with a former actor, Sean Lockhart. Times Leader reports:

Cobra Video, based in Dallas Township, filed a $1 million federal lawsuit in the Southern District of California against an actor that appeared in several of its movies for a breach of contract and trademark violations February of 2006.

On Monday, the court ordered a settlement conference that is scheduled for Feb. 21.

Could it be that Lockhart had something to do with Kocis’ murder? We haven’t the foggiest, but we’re sure police will be looking for a chat.

But, there’s also his background as a sex offender and, of course, his involvement in bare back porn to consider. Seems to us as if there could be a lot of enemies lurking in the shadows. Just what we’ve been waiting for: another gay porn murder mystery a la Tim Boham.
