Priest busted for filming himself having gay sex on church altar goes into hiding

A young priest who was filmed having wild gay sex on a church altar has gone into hiding after being placed on “personal leave.”

Footage of a man wearing priest vestments and performing sexual acts with another man first emerged online back in May and resulted in the Garda, the country’s state police, opening an investigation into the matter.

The super scandalous video was filmed at St Bartholomew’s Church, Kildorrery, in the Cloyne Diocese of North Cork.

Now, the Irish Mirror has gotten its hands on an internal church document confirming that the priest at the center of the probe has taken a leave of absence from his duties.

“He has taken so-called personal leave to deal with his issues,” a source tells the newspaper. “It is understood he has been suffering from some mental difficulties and some addiction problems.”

“This has been a major scandal in the area and people are devastated by it all.”

The Irish Mirror reports that the investigation into the matter is still “ongoing”.

At the time the video first emerged, bishop Pat Buckley said he brought the images to the attention of church leaders.

“I reported the images to the Catholic Church hierarchy and I am told they have gone to the gardai,” he said.
