More Prop 8-related violence out of California, where a “No” activist allegedly punched an elderly “Yes” man and wife:
An elderly Carlsbad couple was punched by a neighbor during an angry confrontation over Proposition 8 yard signs.
Lt. Neil Galluci says 53-year-old Lawrence Pizzicara was arrested Monday night and booked for investigation of elder abuse and battery causing great bodily injury.
Investigators say the couple–a 76-year-old man and his 77 year-old wife–had placed a “Yes on Prop. 8” sign in their yard. Tuesday’s ballot proposition would amend the state constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman.
The lieutenant says the couple’s neighbor then allegedly placed a “No on Prop. 8” sign on the couple’s property and a fight broke out.
Good gosh, we just want all this to be over!

You know, I oppose violence. But we can’t pretend that the “Yes on 8” position isn’t an attack on us, personally. You cannot support Prop 8 without being a bigot.

…and yard signs are just asking for it.

Yes on 8 yard signs are our burning cross.

I do not live in California, but I have to admit that Yes On Hate signs and commercials are a slap to the face. Basically telling me that My lover of 28 years and I are sub human. If Obama loses maybe it is time to move to Canada!

Fuck that. No. You do NOT punch people, especially elderly people, over things like this. I can’t stand the Yes on 8 people, but that was 100% wrong. If that’s what the No on 8 people are up to, then we deserve to lose.

…and stop ridiculing cute kitty cats that are exercising their freedom to bear arms. (Go Rambo pussy!)

I can understand where the violence comes from. I joined a “Yes on 8” group thinking I could act as the loyal opposition. Wrong.
My posts went from eloquent and reasoned to abusive and reactive in the space of a week. That is one mean crowd, and they’ll lie to your face and laugh about it later.
Thank the heavens I was banned. I wasn’t doing anyone any good!

To all my brothers and sisters who are gay, I encourage you to visit Exodus International at:
Are you struggling with unwanted same-sex attractions? Maybe you have lived as a homosexual for a long time, but now are looking for a way out.
For thirty years, Exodus International has offered hope and help to people seeking freedom from homosexuality. We have seen in thousands of lives that this freedom is possible through the power of God working in our hearts and minds.

The very reason that I voted in FAVOR of Prop 8 was because of fools like this jackass who would assault an elderly couple who were simply exercising their 1st Amendment rights! And then you jackasses DEFEND the violence! Unbelievable. I hope this idiot gets prosecuted.

I don’t defend violence. I just understand where it comes from.
I’m shocked that I actually have to supress violent urges, because I’m not a violent person.
I have to go work at a church today, and frankly, I’m afraid to go, because I’m afraid I’ll slap someone!
been there
Do you really think it was a one-sided fight? Then you must be very naive. The “elderly” couple got in about 30 punches and scratches on the gay man, while calling him anti-gay slurs. Wake up, your rights are being taken away.
