“When we made Queer Eye, we never saw ourselves as important or as activists. We were proud of being out. We were the first television show, that I know of, that had an entirely openly gay cast… I’ll never forget the first time I watched Matt Lauer try to say the word ‘queer’ on TV. I mean, it’s not a word people threw around a lot, and it was a very political word. I didn’t like the title at the beginning. I’ve come to realize I was wrong, because I think the provocative nature of it was balanced with the sweetness of the way the show ran most of the time. It worked out… The main thing about Queer Eye that I will say is that, in an era before the Internet was everywhere, we heard from hundreds, probably thousands, of gay kids who said, ‘Thank you for putting some gay people on TV that my parents can actually like. Firefighters liked us, cops, marines. I mean, it was a very good show.”
— Queer Eye For The Straight Guy‘s Ted Allen, the show’s food and wine expert, recalls the impact of the groundbreaking series in a new interview with HuffPo
lauraspencer
Ted says “…in an era before the Internet was everywhere.”
Seriously??? The show premiered in 2003!! Not 1993 or ’83. The internet was “everywhere in 2003”. I get his point, but generations started changing before QAFSG. REAL WORLD had already been on a decade and gay characters. SURVIVOR had featured gay characters. Scripted shows like WILL & GRACE, MELROSE PLACE, DYNASTY, ALL MY CHILDREN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE, et. al.
As for the word “QUEER” the popular TV show, QUEER AS FOLK was already 3 years old so the word was already in the television vocabulary.
QUEER EYE did present gay visibility but to make it sound like it was groundbreaking (the title above oversells it) is not true. The ground was already broken.

Changed a Generation?….A bunch of Gay “Step and Fetches”….Sad and Gross…
Giancarlo85
@lauraspencer: Oh grow up. You know what he means. While the internet was around definitely in 2003… social media was not. You’re just a vicious personality. Maybe you need to get a reality check.
Chris
Of thee group, Thom Filicia was my favorite. He worked magic when he redid people’s homes. I wish he’d redo mine.
Also, I liked their easy bantering with one another.
Black Pegasus
This show was one of the biggest clown shows on television.
When you reinforce negative stereotypes by acting like a bunch catty fashion
Queens, you simultaneously lower the self esteems of gay youth struggling with
their sexuality. The show was an embarrassment. And while I’m at it,
Noah’s Arc was equally embarrassing.
Giancarlo85
@Black Pegasus: Oh please. Did you actually watch the show? Several of them were just to down to earth. I didn’t think Ted Allen is catty or anything like that. And if you have an issue with gay men who are out and like fashion… lol. That’s hilarious. How did the show lower the self esteem of gay youth?
Realitycheck
@Giancarlo85:
I agree, I think Queer Eye biggest contribution was to show straight guys
in their daily environment with Gay guys giving them suggestion, basically
changing some people misconception “of” gay guys and while it was not
the first show about gays, it definitely did open and break down more
doors toward gay acceptance, especially with the younger generations.
If we are looking at breaking barrier, the first I know of, and perhaps not
truly the first, was the Golden Girls, the episode about lesbians and the
one about Blanche gay brother and his lover.
Realitycheck
@Black Pegasus:
Have you seen young people recently? LOL lots of liberated gay boys and lesbians out there, I see an unprecedented level of self empowerment.
And, I am sorry you didn’t like Noah’s Arc but it was a popular show, hence lots of viewer, I don’t see how that is a bad thing.
And not every one wants to be Rambo in the jungle, flamboyant is part of “Gay”.
Realitycheck
And speaking of hot guys from Noah’s Arc…

The shallowness was a bit off putting. But it was a good time, showing gays and straights talking and laughing together. And shallowness is a part of all mainstream culture. So there’s no escaping it, especially on the teevee. And compared to the crimes of Whatshisface, that producer on Logo, this was a mix of Painted Veil and War and Peace.
lauraspencer
@Realitycheck:
Hi Realitycheck!
I enjoyed NOAH’S ARC even though it wasn’t the strongest written or acted show. I like the diversity that it represented in the TV gay landscape.
I just want to clarify that it was never had lots of viewers. It might have been liked by the small audience that watched it, but there were very few actually watching.
When the show premiered in 2005 Logo was only distributed in about 35 million homes. For comparison MTV, Discovery, AE are in close to 100 million so Logo was about in a 1/3 of homes. The show only ran two seasons. If it were a bonafide ratings hit the show would have continued. DRAG RACE is in what season now?? Eight?
Again I will say I enjoyed NOAH’S ARC. I always liked Jensen Atwood. But it was never a ratings hit attracting many viewers.
lauraspencer
@Giancarlo85:
Hi Giancrazy85. As usual you prefer to comment on my thoughts than the actual story above. You really need to get over your obsession with me.
I think you are on the young side so you might not remember 2003 that well. Al Gore got laughed at in 2000 for claiming to have invented the internet because it was a ludicrous statement. Ted’s comment about the internet above is just as crazy.
Yes, Twitter didn’t launch until 2006, but there were plenty of other platforms…Facebook, Myspace, Friendster.
QAFSG did help with visibility and it can be debated whether it was positive or stereotypical, but the generation that was affected by QUEER EYE was probably affected just as greatly by all the titles I said above. Bravo isn’t a network that targets teens or 20somethings. They focus on Women 30+. MTV’s depictions of gays and lesbians alongside straight characters on ROAD RULES, REAL WORLD, TRUE LIFE, etc. probably shaped the same generation that Ted is talking about a bit more.
McShane
Some of those straight guys seriously needed the help. I vaguely remember a mildly gross pony tailed hippie guy, that ended up really good looking after the makeover. He even seemed pleasantly surprised by the results.
topshelf
It was a clever show that presented gay men in a positive, lighthearted and non-flambouyant way (Carson notwithstanding.) Though to imply that these men were brave and noble pioneers is stretching the reality a bit. It didn’t break any new ground. It just reinforced what had already been pioneered by others. And that’s something.
Giancarlo85
@lauraspencer: Hi, Lauralazy… have you actually come up with some original thoughts or the same old vapid responses?
What obsession? You seem to think these comments are revolting and disgusting. Oh and trust me, I remember 2003 more than you. The internet has taken a life of its own in recent years (so much so net neutrality has started to be a hot button issue). Social media didn’t really take off until later. Myspace while founded in 2003 didn’t really take off until a couple years after that. Facebook had a slow start.
You’re attack on Queer Eye doesn’t surprise me… at all really. Queer Eye had a profound impact on the way people view gay people and showed them helping others. And MTV? Who watches that shit anymore? It isn’t 1991. My goodness, how old are you? In your 50s?
AtticusBennett
@Black Pegasus: not really. but i know why you feel that way. you had to “not be like those gays” to be tolerated. thing is, those guys don’t. and they’re more than tolerated. they’re loved.
it’s like when people say “pride parades are the worst stereotypes and make us look bad!” no, they don;t. and you can prove that they don’t because the people lining the parade route are cheering and happy. who’s unhappy? the folks who are at home, hating the parade and not even attending it? who the hell CARES what they think?
the show was awesome, and funny, and insightful. straight men learned how clean up their act, and nobody came away thinking “gays are awful”
what “negative” stereotypes were in this show? that we’re cultured? creative? artistic? thoughtful? if you saw “catty queens” you didn’t see the show, and you need to take your Insecurity Goggles off.
if those guys represent “what’s wrong with gays” then how come they’re more loved, embraced, accepted and supported than ANY of you complainers? yeah. exactly.
neko1114
Who are they???
MarionPaige
I remember desperately trying to see this show. When I did finally catch a few episodes, the whole thing came across as rather tame. You have to wonder how outrageously funny Queer Eye could have been had it been European based (and had it not had to toe the line of “the proper homosexual” by US Gay Activist standards).
Really, I expected something like “Gay Army”. And, we know that Gay Army played as outrageous comedy every EXCEPT for the US. The flamboyant flaming homosexual is as “black face” as this “advertiser friendly, no pooping, monogamous same sex married homosexual”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bkt1vAX0MRM
AtticusBennett
i suppose what i love most about shows like Queer Eye is that it keeps insecure self-hating cowards like Black Pegasus deeply in the closet so nobody in the real world will ever have to interact with them.
Milton Appleby
This show was every cliche possible. Eye rolling.
Masc Pride
@Black Pegasus: I agree 100 percent. Nothing but clowns that led to more clowns
@lauraspencer: Hey, “Giancrazy” is mine! Make up your own name for that nutcase. Shouldn’t be hard.
AtticusBennett
there we have it folks! closeted insecure self-hating homosexuals don’t like seeing proudly openly gay people on TV!
we get it – in the Queer Eye boys you saw everything that your own homophobic fathers made fun of and hated. but guess what? it’s not the fault of those guy that your fathers were such ignorant bigots. nor is it the fault of the Queer Eye boys that you never grew the orbs and spines to stand up to him.
AtticusBennett
@Milton Appleby: i know right? those AWFUL cliches!
the guys were bright, educated, witty, quick, friendly, well-liked, well-dressed, cultured, popular, and embraced by straight people as well as gay people. oh those cliches, they’re just AWFUL right?
Aevlyssa
@AtticusBennett:
It was groundbreaking. The groundbreaking part for the gay community wasn’t that there were gay men on TV, it was that there were gay men on TV that their homophobic families and friends and neighbors could see… and learn to accept as regular people. I can’t express the huge difference that this “shallow” show made in the lives of real people that I know. I personally witnessed homophobic straight males watch Queer Eye and become less terrified of the gay community. I saw men that were militantly anti gay become “ok” with alternate lifestyles because for the first time they could see it as non-threatening. As a TV show it was “different”, but not such a freak show that “the straight guy” couldn’t stand watching it. The cast members were not caricatures: like @AtticusBennett said “the guys were bright, educated, witty, quick, friendly, well-liked, well-dressed, cultured, popular, and embraced by straight people as well as gay people.” For isolated straight men that had been raised to fear and hate the gay community, Queer Eye was an introduction to the idea that the fear and hate just weren’t necessary. In that way, it was groundbreaking.
lauraspencer
I give you full credit for coming up with the “Giancrazy85” nickname. Well done. I’m just trying to help you with the branding and getting it out there so others use it as well 🙂
Happy weekend!

I hope it blew out the stereotypes. I bet some people thought it was about sex.

@Giancarlo85:
Reading isn’t your strong suit. Where did I attack QAFSG? I made a comment on Ted’s statement about the internet. I actually have worked with Scout Prods, the company who produced QAFSG and they are a talented team. I had a straight friend, Alan Corey on the show and he had a fun experience. I went to school with Tom Filicia (Go Orangemen!!)and a friend of mine dated Kyan (Hey Eddie!)
As for MTV and who watches it, well the demo that is supposed to watch it…teens. I’m not a teen and haven’t been for sometime. I’m not 50 and there isn’t anything wrong with being 50 (hello Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, etc.) I’m 41 or as I prefer to say forty one-derful!!

Firstly,I concede: I’ve not watched an entire episode of this show, Will and Grace, or Queer as Folk. I knew what each was about, and I would tune the show in and each time about 20 minutes was enough.
Mostly I suppose it’s the demographics/character types. I don’t live in NY and have friends in the jobs the guys had, etc. And the archetypical feminized banter has never been a part of my life. I don’t condemn it, but at a certain age realized I was never a part of it.
If these shows help the public at large and the gay community to progress then that’s great.
Giancarlo85
@lauraspencer: You attacked it plenty and you attacked Ted for making some sensible comments about the show. I doubt you have ever worked a day for that company. You’re a liar and not a very good one… and now you’re just making things up.
MTV was watched by teens (back in the early 1990s). Now most of those are in their 40s.
Lauralazy and MASK PRIDE are two useless trolls. MASK PRIDE is always proud of pleasing his straight masters. He lives constantly in a shadow of fear and doesn’t want to be one of those fem gays. He just wishes fem gays would all disappear.
And now it’s hilarious these two trolls are kissing each others ass.

@Giancarlo85:
As usual, you didn’t read. I never ever said I worked “for” Scout Productions. I have worked “with”. Scout has pitched me shows over the years and I have developed projects with them. I do not work for them. I have said numerous times in other posts I work on the network side. I hire production companies to make shows. I am not employed by production companies. I have worked for ABC, CBS, Discovery and MTV.
As for MTV being watched by teens back in the early 90’s that is true, but they received their highest ratings in the late 90s with TRL, REAL WORLD and into the 00’s with THE HILLS, LAGUNA BEACH, TEEN MOM and more recently with JERSEY SHORE. MTV has fallen on some difficult times recently with finding new hits, but your timeline is totally off as to when teens were last watching. MTV had a very healthy audience until about 2011 when they started struggling.
Masc Pride
@lauraspencer: Good point. In that case, please continue.
@Giancarlo85: Oh. That’s interesting. Days back you were accusing us of being the same person (when you were tapped out and feeling defeated). Now we’re “two”? I swear, you flip-flop more than a vers porn star.
Masc Pride
@wpewen: By your assessment, which I totally agree with, these shows can really only help to progress a segment of the bi/gay population.
level75RDM
You know how gays are afraid friends and family will think they’re just like the stereotypes on TV?
Your friends and family are idiots who believe everything they see on TV. My condolences.
Giancarlo85
@lauraspencer: You never worked FOR or WITH that company. Stop making things up please. It’s getting boring. What other audacious claim are you going to make? That you know Lady Gaga and Sam Smith personally? How about Drake? Do you know him? Who else do you know? I’m so interested in learning more about you. Have anymore dreck I need to read?
I’m sure you work for a studio though… perhaps as the janitor. MTV has gone to shit since the start of the 2000s and so has its ratings.
@Masc Pride: Oh that’s right, MASK pride. You two use the same insults… rather shall I say… two accounts? You really don’t have a life. Good luck living in the closet forever (with your lauralazy alter ego). You have a split personality and you are convinced that you and Lauralazy are two different people. You’re just a lazy fool who lives with his parents and has a huge potbelly
Giancarlo85
@Masc Pride: Oh here we go… a segment? Is that right? So you poor closeted fake masculine types are so oppressed? Why don’t you do something about it and stop bitching all the time? Maybe come out of the closet and explain how MASCULINE you are and how MASCULINE gay men are abused and all the other bullcrap you can come up with.
Masc Pride
@Giancarlo85: You’re unraveling right before my eyes. I can just picture you at your keyboard, hands shaking with rage. Hilarious! 😀
Giancarlo85
@Masc Pride: Oh please. I’m actually laughing at you so hard. You really think your closeted kind are discriminated against by other gay people… it’s hilarious. All you do is try to please straight people. Perpetual brown noser.
Masc Pride
@Giancarlo85: Don’t laugh too loud. Might wake mommy up.
lauraspencer
@Giancarlo85:
Nope. Never met Drake, Lady Gaga or Sam Smith. I worked at MTV in the late 90s. The biggest names I met were Jon Secada, Amber, Erasure, Melissa Etheridge etc. I didn’t work in the music division so I wasn’t around the musicians much. I have never been impressed by musicians so it doesn’t really matter to me. I have always loved soap stars though, hence my screen name.
If I were going to lie about my career I would probably say I was a neurosurgeon or a wall street banker. I have no reason to lie about working in TV. I have done it for 20 years and it’s a job. It pays the bills and I’m lucky that it can be creative and not the same thing day in and day out.
As for people who are janitors, there isn’t anything wrong with that job at all. It’s honest work. Not sure why you feel the need to slam janitors.
Giancarlo85
@lauraspencer: Sure… sure you did. I’m glad you know a lot of people. The most you worked as was a janitor. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with being a janitor. But you need to be honest with us. Stop lying to everyone on here.
lauraspencer
@Giancarlo85:
You are an odd one. You have said in previous postings that you work for a utility company in CA. You don’t hear me calling you a liar.
I have no reason to lie about my job.
Have a good night.
iggy6666
@lauraspencer: Giancarlo insults anyone in opposition. Calls people names and yet we’re still the assholes…..
Dear Giancarlo
Stop acting like a little sniveling turd. Your need to win internet pissing contests is so overdone
Spare me the response of being called ” hit n run troll”, ”stupid” or some equally lame comeback like ”big poopy head”. It really all translates the same — desperation! If it makes you feel better and prevents your vomit of insults, YOU WIN!!
lauraspencer
@iggy6666:
Hi Iggy. I have seen Giancarlo’s behavior on many other postings. What is odd is that he makes up the “opposition”. Even if you agree with him 80% on a topic he attacks like you disagree 100%. In this case I didn’t oppose him. I rarely do. I made a simple comment on a sentence in the story and he then chose to attack me and totally take what I said about one sentence to mean that I hated QUEER EYE which isn’t the case.
If I say I’m Democrat. He will tell me I’m Republican.
If I say I’m 41. He will say I’m over 50.
If I say I work in TV. He will say I am a janitor.
There’s no pleasing him.
I feel bad for him. He needs a hug. He says he has a boyfriend and if this is the case I’m not sure where all the anger and bitterness comes from.
Have a nice night.
Happy Father’s Day to all tomorrow!
jason smeds
I think these guys were entertaining and they weren’t all flamers. I mean, Carson was the only real flamer in the bunch. So it wasn’t all stereotypical.
Overall, I think these guys helped the image of male homosexuality, albeit in a limited way. Better than the couple on Modern Family, for sure.
Giancarlo85
@iggy6666: But you know it is true. So why should I lie? You post out of convenience to attack me. Grow the fuck up please. You have nothing. And yes you are an asshole. I don’t know you, but you already shown how much of an asshole you are. I talk respectfully to plenty of people on here, but not to idiots like lauralazy.
@lauraspencer: You seem to have a lot of issues, so it is ironic you attack me and once again attack my relationship status. And no, we don’t agree 80% of the time. That is total bullshit. You are a fiscal conservative so you are diametrically opposite to my viewpoints. You call me crazy, but the reality is I am logically sound (on par with the politics of other developed countries). A fiscal conservative should not even exist in my opinion. It goes in direct contradiction of the facts.
You do not and have never agreed with me 80% of the time in any post. Lets get real.
lauraspencer
@Giancarlo85:
I am real. You are the one who isn’t happy unless people agree 100% with you. If someone agrees 80%, 70% or 50% you lash out swearing and taking it personally. Nobody ever agrees all the time, but there is a way of being respectful about it.
You always go off topic as well. This isn’t even a political posting and you are going on about politics in other developed countries.
I simply said that Ted’s comment was bizarre about the internet. I didn’t trash QEFSG and off you went saying that I criticized the show. You never address that. You then call me a liar for no reason.
You seem to enjoy sparring. I suggest taking a boxing class at a local gym.
Have a nice day and Happy Fsther’s Day!
Giancarlo85
@lauraspencer: You’re about as real as a $3 dollar bill. Those who are right wing here never agree with me. Lets get that sorted out right now. If you’re a fiscal conservative, you agree with me 0% of the time. That’s just the reality. I made the point about politics in other countries to reference as to why it is impossible for you to agree with me 80% of the time.
You need to grow up and fast.
iggy6666
@Giancarlo85: lol. Hoping you would obstain from commenting. Wishful thinking…..
Giancarlo85
@iggy6666: Hoping you wouldn’t be an idiot with nothing real to say… Wishful thinking on my part.

@Giancarlo85: A “fiscal conservative” is only a person that believes in fiscal (economic and spending) responsibility. There are plenty of people from all spectrum of life that are “fiscal conservatives.” Gay, straight, democrat, republicans, black, white, etc. They come in all types of people. They are simply people that believe you should not spend more than you make. “Fiscal Conservatism” has nothing to do with social issues.
If you are talking about religious conservatives and right-wing conservatives, that is different. Fiscal conservatives are just responsible money spenders.
Masc Pride
@Clark35: I totally believe that. When you look at some guys, you just know it’s an act to some degree. It’s all about attention, be it on or off camera. These days a lot of people also like to “wear their argument”, and what I mean by that is certain types will intentionally present themselves in a manner they know is generally perceived as ridiculous IN HOPES of being ridiculed so they can then lash out and argue whatever they wish to argue.
Giancarlo85
@jheryn: Incorrect. A fiscal conservative is nothing more than a corporatist. There is NOTHING “responsible” about their viewpoints as they are deadly to entire countries and the wellbeing of citizens. Fiscal conservatism is a joke and a lie. It’s a complete myth. It has nothing to do with being responsible.
“They are simply people that believe you should not spend more than you make.”
More claptrap. Fiscal conservatives don’t actually preach that line of nonsense. Maybe you should get out of the Reaganomics spin and come back to reality.
” Fiscal conservatives are just responsible money spenders.”
No they aren’t. They are irresponsible money spenders who want to cut vital programs and services. Many of the programs these “fiscal conservatives” (corporatists) go after have a 2 to 1 economic advantage.
Fiscal conservatism is a joke and is a lie. It has nothing to do with reality. It is corporatism and austerity… the worst kind of myths. Fiscal conservatism was implemented in countries like Spain with disastrous results (prolonging the recession and making a bad situation even worse). Responsible… my ass.
Giancarlo85
@Masc Pride: I don’t believe anything Clark says as it is prety outlandish. But… how did these guys intentionally act? You don’t know anything MASK PRIDE. I could say everything about you is an act. You are intentionally covering yourself up so you can be accepted by your “straight bros”. You live in fantasy.
And I didn’t see anything over the top on the show. Did you guys actually watch the show? Or are you just making things up?
Giancarlo85
BTW, I must add fiscal conservatism has everything to do with social issues. Fiscal conservatism hurts gays, minorities and those who do not have opportunity. You cannot be socially liberal and fiscally conservative. That is a contradiction. As someone who considers others, I view fiscal conservatism as repackaging of the Reaganomics bullshit that was spoonfed to people in the 1980s. Same bullshit.
Masc Pride
@jheryn: Don’t mind him. As soon as I read your post, I knew he’d be along shortly with an essay about why you’re wrong about everything. Know why? Because everyone is wrong and ashamed of themselves. Giancrazy is the only member here who is always right and always proud, so proud that he’s filled with contempt for other bi and gay men.
AtticusBennett
@Masc Pride: or, you’re just a miserable closet case for whom internet anonymity is your only outlet for your impotent rage. trolling here is obviously your own distraction from having to deal with the anti-gay people that surround you. and nobody is fooled. happy pride. try to stop being so ashamed of yourself. attend a parade. might help you find some courage.
Cam
They were openly gay, on the air, and very very popular.
That was a good thing. Remember, none of the people that are now out were out then, these guys were it. And they didn’t pull that bullshit of winking at the gay community but never really being out the way people like even Rosie O’Donnel did.
They were out, and on TV, that was a big deal.
Masc Pride
Correction: Giancrazy and Atticus are the only members who are always right and always proud, so proud that they’re both filled with contempt for other bi and gay men.
Giancarlo85
@Masc Pride: Don’t mind what? That you’re a fake masculine closet case that constantly bitches about fem guys and being misrepresented? Have you ever watched Queer Eye because based on your inane rants I doubt it.
MASK Pride is only prideful about one thing… hiding behind masks and fake images.
“so proud that they’re both filled with contempt for other bi and gay men.
Seems to be you actually considering you want fem gay men to disappear off the face of the planet.
You’re sick in the head.
Masc Pride
The same two members who are always claiming they’re so much prouder and better than everyone else also seem to be the most angry and unhinged. Very telling.
Giancarlo85
@Masc Pride: Mask Pride always want fem gays to disappear. He thinks they insult his masculinity. He’s always so angry at out and/or feminine gay men. They are something he is too afraid of being.
Masc Pride
Yes, there are definitely a couple of fem queens that I wish would disappear right now. Can’t argue with that! lol
jheryn
@Masc Pride: I have had them both respond negatively to me before. Doesn’t bother me.
I knew Giancarlo 85 would be up in arms when I was writing it. He doesn’t like anyone to disagree with or correct him. He comprehends what he WANTS to comprehend so he can soap box and rant.
He obviously has mental issues. Anyone who reads any amount of his posts can see that. His obvious need to rant and rage on people is telling. He can never debate or agree to disagree even on the most innocuous issues. I believe it is impossible for him to have a civil conversation with anyone that doesn’t see things his way.
Atticus just tells everyone who he disagrees with that they are closet cases, are ugly and fat, are self-hating, are anonymous trolls, and are ashamed of who they are.
Neither of them know the first thing about the people they make accusations about. To be honest, I have to laugh at their imaginations. They are vivid.
Funnier still, is that they think that what they say bothers the people they respond to.
Of course, they will respond with the same nonsense to this post as they do to all of them. I’m actually looking forward to it. I need a good laugh.

@jheryn: if i had your life i’d need a laugh via-internet anonymity, too.
behind every anonymous right-leaning gay-shaming internet complainer is the father who wishes he’d sprung for that abortion all those years ago. remember, denigrating ‘fem dudes’ on the internet won’t make daddy love you.
Masc Pride
It’s the Queerty Roast of Giancrazy85. Hilarious! Bet he’s sitting at his mommy’s PC crying all over the keyboard. lol
jheryn
@Masc Pride: LOL. See what did I tell you? Same responses I told you I would get. Again, I find it hilarious that either of them would think anyone cares what “made up” scenarios they throw at you?
Atticus knows not the first thing about my life yet he has accused me of being almost every one of the things I said he would. Hell, he threw in a couple I didn’t expect. I am anonymous, right-leaning, gay-shaming, and my dad wishes he’d sprung for an abortion. Also I denigrate ‘fem dudes’ and my daddy doesn’t love me.
That is great stuff! None of that stuff is true, but it is his standard M.O. He doesn’t have any original material.
And better yet, he probably thinks his unsubstantiated theorizing and name calling bothers me. He will never realize that every time he responds to me he is just proving what I said about him is correct.

@jheryn: So true about both. I’ve yet to see Giancrazy and Reverend Atticus express opposition without being super confrontational and insulting. I find it particularly amusing to see them incessantly accusing other users of internalized homophobia…while they’re on Queerty tearing other gay people down every day (in the name of pride, of course). They’re truly the gay versions of Bible-thumpers.

@Cam:
Hi Cam. Hope you are well!
Can you clarify what you meant by “Remember, none of the people that are now out were out then, these guys were it”???
Do you mean other celebs/reality stars? QUUER EYE ran from 2003 – 2007. If you are talking about other “celebs/reality stars there is a long list that were already out…Ian McKellen, Elton John, Ellen DeGeneres, Survivor’s Richard Hatch, Brandon, Scout… Real World’s Pedro, Genesis, Danny, Norm, Amazing Race’s Chip & Reichen, Rupert Everett, Andy Bell, Alexis Arquette, Chaz Bono, Melissa Etheridge. These were just off the top of my head. I’m sure if I did research I could come up with a lot more.

@Masc Pride:
Very true!

@jheryn: I disputed what you said as inaccurate. it was not ranting and raving. You went on and on about some fiscal conservatism lie. Fiscal conservatism is basically repackaged Reaganomics. It isn’t about being responsible, but rather being a corporatist.
You are espousing a lie and myth and that is where I disputed you. The left wing are far more responsible than the reckless right wing.
@Masc Pride: Funny how you fail to practice what you preach and do what you accuse others of doing. You insult others including me, and you denigrate feminine gay men because they aren’t a coward like you.
I don’t tear down other gay people. I do tear down people like who call others fem queens as an insult. You are the one attacking other gay men because you are not secure in your own skin. But please continue being a nutcase like that mentally imbalanced lauralazy.

@Giancarlo85:
Hi Giancarlo85. Happy Tuesday.
I haven’t attacked fem, butch or any kind of gay men. I simply said I have voted Democrat 70% of the time, Independent 20% and Republican 10% on a posting a couple months ago. Ever since then you have attacked my comments constantly… on any topic. Anytime I say something you seem to call me a liar.
I don’t like seeing you ganged up on here, but you have to take some responsibility. If you were a bit softer and respectful in delivering your message it would probably go a lot farther.
Nite.
Giancarlo85
@lauraspencer: Some vicious personalities like MASK pride do not deserve respect, as they didn’t earn any. I am not being ganged up on. I have plenty who agree with me on here. But this isn’t a popularity contest.
You called me a flake. Funny how the real flake is you since you admitted voting for Romney and that dingbat running mate Paul Ryan he picked.
Masc Pride
@Giancarlo85: No. I responded to you in the same manner you addressed me. You’re very personal and insulting right off the bat, and then you shamelessly turn around become an outraged victim when you simply get a dose of your own. You’re easily the most vicious personality on here, and that’s saying a lot.
My statement was very clearly directed at you and Reverend Atticus, but as usual you try to make anything I’ve said about you seem like some tirade against all fems. If you had valid points, you wouldn’t need to twist people’s words and argue so dishonestly all the time.
Giancarlo85
@Masc Pride: You have always been insulting and personal since the day I first saw your posts. You must be so proud of living behind lies.
You are a hypocrite and a liar. You use words I said and have no originality. You are a horrible person in every sense. It would surprise me if you had any friends at all. Keep on peddling the same lies… No one on here ever believes you.

@Giancarlo85: still at it are you? Sad. So very sad
