Kyan Douglas, 51, the former grooming expert on the first series of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy back in 2003, has announced he’s retiring from TV work.
After finding fame on Queer Eye, Douglas has frequently appeared on The Rachael Ray Show, where he gives people makeovers. He’s been a regular on the show for over 13 years.

On yesterday’s episode, he made the surprise announcement that he was stepping away from working in front of the camera.

“So, Kyan has an announcement he’s going to share with everybody and he came to us because he has done this show more than any,” said host Ray. “So, what is your announcement?”
“I am retiring from the television business at last,” Kyan said. “I just feel ready to move on to something else. I don’t know what that is yet, but things come to an end and the universe will fill a void, so it’s time to step away and see what’s next for me.”
He then thanked Ray personally, saying his work for her had helped him out in a very personal capacity.
“I have to tell you [Rachael], that because of you, I’ve worked for you for 13 years, and because of you and working on this show – the flexibility that it gave me, the income that it gave me – I was able to spend the last year of my mother’s life with her at home. You gave that to me. Thank you so much. I’ll never forget it.”
Ray responded, “We have nothing but love and respect for you. We are your family and we will always be family.”

Anybody who takes an interest in his work or in Queer Eye or those who just like to be supportive of their gay brothers? I found it interesting.

Grooming expert? He can get a job with Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Hell) since she takes a great interest in that subject. Although she usually looks like she’s just been to the dog groomer and asked for the “Borzoi” cut.

There is a name for you, but it isn’t used in high society…outside of a kennel.

I actually didn’t even recognize him. He’s rocking the bearded zaddy look.
I guess if anyone is going to get on board with truly aging sexy and gracefully, it would be the grooming expert who has seen way too many people try to hang on to the same look they had in their 20s and 30s.

He is definitely aging well. I don’t really know much about him, but I certainly wish him much happiness in this next chapter of his life.

The original was the best and all the guys are doing well and have been for years now. I would love to see Kyan on TV forever but I wish him well in whatever he does.

Now if only we could get all the current cast of Queer Eye to retire from TV
