In 2005, R. Kelly started his mind-boggling opus Trapped in the Closet, a 22-part musical saga that told the story of an adulterous one night stand. Along the way we met nosy neighbors, secret gay lovers, pimps, HIV and midgets.
Now Kelly is bringing Trapped in the Closet: The Next Installment to IFC in November. Will it have more queer content? Who knows—but if it’s half as fucked up as the original, it’ll be worth seeing.
Alamo Drafthouse RCA Records and IFC are holding a sing-along screening of the original 22 episodes of Trapped in the Closet Saturday night at New York Comic Con.

There were some LGBT subplots in the first. Hopefully this one will include more in-depth (and shirtless) detail about the Reverend’s DL relationship.
