Twitter and the rest of the web was abuzz when everyone’s favorite Disney psychic, 27-year-old Raven-Symonè, outted herself last week with the tweet: “I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you;” confirming the longtime speculation of her sexuality.
While the public’s reaction was largely supportive, she followed up on Monday with a statement that read:
“I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted… I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however, am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to.”
In other words, Olivia Huxtable just wanted to confirm her previous tweet in case you missed it, and to let her fellow single ladies who love other ladies that they still have a chance to put a ring on it. That’s so Raven!
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

That’s so Raven 🙂

Unlike other celebrities ( Jada Pinkitt Smith) , and others who do follow up tweets thus confusing the first tweet and clouding the issue even more, Raven adds to and clarify an already clear statement without being redundant.

Technically she didn’t say she was single. She just said she wasn’t getting married.

Olivia’s last name was Kendall, not Huxtable. She was Denise’s stepdaughter.

@ralpo: Very true. Just because she doesn’t plan to get married now doesn’t mean she’s not seeing someone. It’d be nice though. Not that I’d ever have a chance with a celebrity, but it’s just wishful thinking.
