Best known for her manic 1982 anthem “Mickey,” Basil went on to become a hugely successful choreographer, helming the fancy footwork for Tina Turner’s last tour, Bette Midler’s Vegas spectacular, and various routines in films like Legally Blonde and My Best Friend’s Wedding.

Clearly she hasn’t lost an ounce of the ferocity demonstrated on that bouncy “Mickey” vid on endless rotation in the early days of MTV.
