Ricky Martin shares intensely moving photos as he helps rebuild Puerto Rico

Ricky Martin and fiancé Jwan Yosef have shared a cachet of deeply moving photos featuring Martin in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria sent the island into catastrophe and killed at least 34 people.

The “Vente Pa’ Ca” singer writes, “Everything is going to be ok and my island will shine again. BUT WE NEED TO WORK… ALOT.”

According to the New York TimesHurricane Maria destroyed roughly 80% of the island’s crop value — approximately $780 million in losses — when it tore through the island on Wednesday, September 30.

The 45-year-old pop singer was born in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, and home to some of the island’s best nightlife.

“It’s incredibly intense what Puerto Rico is going through at the moment,” Martin writes on Instagram. “It will take a long time for my island to go back [to] what it was.”

‘The governor of Puerto Rico Ricardo Rosselló said it will cost approximately 90 billion dollars to rebuild the island.

We need more help. Thousands of families lost EVERYTHING …….but their smiles and love for life is intact.”
