Jörg Haider’s far-right politics helped him make a name – and a career – for himself in Austria.
Known for his at times inflammatory tone, Haider became quite the prominent face for the nation’s social conservatives. That face, however, will be seen no more, for Haider died in a shocking car accident last week.
Now that he’s dead and gone, however, some are claiming the politician hit up a gay-friendly club before the accident:
According to a report by the German-language newspaper Bild, Haider’s evening began with a surprise appearance at the launch party of a new Austrian tabloid, where he was photographed in the company of a young local woman.
…
However, contrary to previous reports, the evening of the charismatic leader did not end there. Before heading home, Haider made a quick visit to Stadtkraeme, a local club famous for its gay night scene.Haider was spotted leaving the place on his own shortly before 1 A.M., fatally crashing his car half an hour later.
This wouldn’t be the first time Haider’s name has been linked to the homos. An Austrian paper claimed eight years ago that the politico, who has been accused of anti-semitism, enjoyed the company of other men.
How about we take this to the next level?

That wouldn’t surprise me a bit. Teutonic fascists have a tendency to love the knob. Half the higher-ranking SS were queers.

As much as his views disgust me I’m really not sure I would classify Haider as a Fascist Darth, Far right, social conservative, an apologist, intolerant certainly but a Fascist is something else far worse. A left wing Socialist is not a Communist afterall… But yeah, homo-lovin was rampent in the euro fascist movements of the 30s & 40s… Just goes to prove that we are no different from the str8s… Intolerance and stupidity is an equal opportunity ideology.

@ jon: If we want to split hairs I would say he wasn’t a fascist because that’s the italien version of right-winged totalitarianism.
But he was pretty comfortable with nazism – calling austria a bastard-nation (because in his opinion it should be a part of germany, not a sovereign country), insisting that nazi-germany had a “decent policy when it comes to providing jobs for the people” (sure, the nazis did everything to prepare the war), mocking everybody who doesn’t have a name that sounds german (if they contradicted him in any way – like the head of the Austrian supreme court), he suggested to put anyone in jail who critizised Austrian authorities (while his party was part of the Austrian government) etc. etc. etc. And as a governor of Carinthia he broke every law regarding the rights of non-german speaking minorities, refugees etc.
He was a f****** nazi, he just knew how to do it MTV-style and people totally fell for it. He made it acceptable to be right-winged “in the good old ways” and re-introduced anti-semitism and xenophobia as political means in Austria. I hope he burns in hell for that (and can he please all his “fans” with him?!)
As for the gay part – yup, being an ass doesn’t have anything to do with sexual orientation. It’s a common human trait.

Gay as a goose-step!

I think that suit should clear up any misunderstanding.

A Gay nazi. How charming. He’s right where he belongs.
