Rosie O’Donnell Pwns David Letterman For His Lame Lesbian Tow-Trucker Jab

When late night talk show host David Letterman heard about Rosie O’Donnell’s recent engagement to Michelle Rounds, he jokingly described their lesbian courtship like this: “The woman she is marrying, her fiancee, was driving… and her car broke down. And guess what happened? Rosie pulls up right behind her in her tow truck.”

It’s a meh joke. But O’Donnell’s comeback absolutely killed while taking Letterman down a peg or two.

Here’s how she responded to Letterman on her TV show:

“Why [make fun of me with such a stereotypical crack], Dave? Why? I don’t remember making fun of you when you had sex with all your interns, Dave. I didn’t do that. I didn’t make fun of your rampant, throbbing heterosexuality, did I Dave?”

Dayum, gurl—way to bring up old shit and rub in some salt! Don’t cross her, folks—she cuts deep.

Then she followed up with her own take on Letterman’s Top 10 List, explaining her top five reasons for refusing to go on his show. One of the reasons was “Not only do you appear to be anti-gay, you’re anti-tow truck driver and that just pisses me off.”

Tow truck drivers and lesbian lovers—two different people joined in a quest for late night respect.

His joke was not really funny but she is a hypocrite. After complaining about Dave’s joke using a stereotype, the dumbass turned around and did the same thing concerning michelle bachman’s husband.
No I am not defending the bachmans before you get your panties in a twist. If you don’t like somehting someone did then complain about don’t turn around two seconds later and do the same thing. It’s douchey

Sorry, I’m obviously being super dumb – I don’t get the tow truck joke. Was it a suggestion the Rosie is butch, or is there some other meaning I’m not gettting?

She’s a bullying blowhard and I’ve been tired of her since her VH1 show.

Maybe Rosie should have been more concerned about what is presented to the public when she had a girlfriend at home taking care of her kids, but pretended to be a single mother, AND was constantly talking about being in love with Tom Cruise. In fact she went so overboard that lesbians started picketing her show because of her hypocrisy.

Then she comes out, chops off her hair, stopped wearing make-up etc… and basically bought in to every single stereotype out there.

But that said, I have no problem with her biting back at Letterman, he made a dig and she shot back, thats their job.

Letterman seems old and tired. A vestige from another era in time.

More than once in recent years, I’ve heard him refer to gay people as “homosexuals.” I mean, even the vaunted New York Times uses “gay” when discussing homosexuals.

@christopher di spirito: I”ve always wondered about that. Why is homosexual considered a bad word now? I don’t see anything wrong with it or that it implies some kind of hatred. Heterosexual and straight are both used interchangeably, so why not gay and homosexual?. It seems like a US thing, because I was in the UK and lots of people say homosexual there and it’s not considered derogatory at all.

As far as Rosie, I think it’s kind of silly if you’re a comedian yourself to be so uptight and have a sense of humor failure over a joke. It’s not like his joke has any real hatred of gay people. He wasn’t making fun of gay people in general, just her because she’s butch. Everyone but Rosie made jokes about him and the intern and I didn’t see him getting upset. Being made fun of is part of being in the public eye.

Rosie is an insignificant, angry cow. She has no sense of humor. I don’t know why people still worship her. Rosie….go away! You do not represent all gay people!

@Bob: I don’t think she claims to represent all gay people. She was merely defending herself. She has the right. I never understand why people have to always attack Rosie by calling her fat, a cow, a dyke, etc. Be original dude. Find some other insults, or just be nice. More positivity is required in this world. You know?

This mad cow jumped the shark when she outed herself as a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. Time to head on out to pasture, Bessie.

      I agree Bob.

Rosie is just bitter since her show on OWN is failing, and she's an F list wannabe celebrity, comedian, and actress.
