Rudy Giuliani’s still playing presidential politics.
Sure, the former New York mayor rescinded his own candidacy, but now he’s headed out on the town to raise money for likely nominee, the cadaverous John McCain:
Giuliani will be the “special guest” at a Sheraton New York fundraiser for McCain on May 7 expected to raise $5 million, sources said. Many of Rudy’s wealthy presidential supporters have jumped on the Mac bandwagon,
Money’s all well and good, but we can’t help but wonder how this alliance will play among social conservatives, who hate Giuliani and are on the fence about McCain, who they deem too liberal.

Is that Rudi in drag?
The scariest part of this is that there is actually a legitimate position which see’s McCain as being too liberal. Bush has demonstated such an excessive disregard for the rule of law, and the Constitution and an adhrehance to militarism and American imperialism, that he has brought us to the very brink of a literal dictatorship. That is no exageration.
Anything even remotely like what we have had is the U.S’s end as a democracy.

In fact, It would be really naive to believe that the Republicans would just relinquish an election. McCain, by sane standards is extrem Either they see Cinton as being prety much like McCain, and hence you’ve got people like Murdock backing her. Or they realistically have
plans on something more agressive than we like to imagine.
Recall that the Security Bill that Bush signed into effect in 2006hads a clause which gives him powers to declare Martial law even if there is peaceful disent. The congress has become so sucked up by the forces of Neoconservatism (economic neoliberalism) that they let anything fly.
