“I’ll be doing it as long as the check clears.” – RuPaul on how long he plans to do RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Auditioning for RuPaul’s Drag Race

In the interview, RuPaul says that so many RuPaul’s Drag Race hopefuls submit audition videos and forget to be themselves in the videos. He says that queens who audition for the show should take a page from the game of Charades where to be successful you have to be yourself. Don’t try to give RuPaul what you think he wants to see, just be yourself because that’s really what he wants to see.

Coming up with Challenges for RuPaul’s Drag Race

Since RuPaul’s Drag Race isn’t limited to the types of challenges it can do, RuPaul says that they can imitate the challenges of other reality shows. He even hints that the queens of season 7 might have to pitch a product that they’ve created the same way that they do on ABC’s reality series Shark Tank.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 Update

According to this interview, they are still conducting auditions for season 7 and have not yet begun filming of any kind. The only hint to season 7 that they give, aside from the audition recommendations for hopeful contestants, is that filming will begin soon.

RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race Season 2 Update

Although RuPaul doesn’t mention that there will in fact be a second season of RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race, he alludes to the idea by address the campaigning that many of the queens are doing as well all of the conversation that he has noticed:
If we do ever have an All Stars—there’s been rumors about it forever! My god! …It’s funny, you know what happened… as I was on the Andy Cohen show and he said off the cuff ‘Is there gonna be an All Stars 2’ and I said ‘Sure!’ From that, I was really kind of being flippant, but that’s what started the whole thing. They are campaigning… Well maybe through positive thinking maybe it will happen, maybe the network will listen and it’ll happen.”
