This week has been rough for RuPaul’s Drag Race season 7 contestant Jasmine Masters. SPOILER ALERT: Following her elimination from the show on Monday night, the always-lurking internet trolls took to Twitter to personally attack her.

Gay Star News also reported that someone tweeted her saying “I’m gonna hunt you down you ugly cunt.” Unbelievable and totally unacceptable! It’s amazing how viewers can get so worked up over the way a show was edited. Sure Jasmine might have said some things people might get angry at, but that is absolutely NO reason to send somebody death threats!
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Thankfully, RuPaul chimed in and had a few things to add:
And now, Jasmine has her final words on the situation:

She deserves respect. Just that simple. It’s simply tragic how people can be so cruel. Love will always be stronger. Keep your head up Jasmine!

Social media at it’s best , Cowards hiding behind their phones and computers.

Ru could have said to the bitches to #eatshit but I guess this was more empowering. What ugly people in this world. I never thought Jasmine was that bad and I didn’t think Mimi deserved crap either. Some people!
James Townsend
She does NOT deserve the “N” word or death threats. I do not tolerate that at all. I can’t stand it.
I know Jasmine and have worked with her and she can be very likable. However this retort, out of frustration and because it is news now is damaging more than good. There are many attributes– for one, if you want to be taken serious you dont use a camera phone turned the wrong way, nor do you wear a shirt that matches the chair. These things lead into the ideas she is fighting against.
I hate to say this, but the tirade, in whole, makes her more unlikable and “ghetto” to those that do not know her.
In person, she laughs, she jokes and throws the “shade” as we all do.
But there was some etiquette missing here, or pre-needed, that people don’t see…
And I will be brave and say it, but in the thought process that large cities are open-minded and accepting– No, is fabricated. These large cities will judge you the fastest! And, yes perhaps due to acceptance etc we can say LA, NY, CHICAGO are largest viewer #s by town for drag race, but most the country watching the show is small town middle America… Hate spreads hate… Jasmine is very strong minded and in her ways… no one can change that. That can be a GREAT thing… same time… it kills the next chapter… she has gotta let people like her without running her mouth to the point that everyone with any remark, good or bad, is “against me”
The best thing to do right now is keep silence, learn from the chapter given and show everyone something new…
Will we get that? Probably not… But I shall hope so…
Stefy
Dude, small towns celebrate weirdness which is why I like to live in them. Yes, people talk, but you let a hurricane happen everyone helps everyone.
Anyway, that’s not what I wanted to say…just…everything will be fine for Jasmine. Karma has a way of working things out. Do tell her we’re all praying and routing for her. Some people need a slap….
I hate pile ons. There’s no excuse for them no matter what the person said and did.
James Townsend
I’m from a very very small town originally myself. No one deserves dis-respect. However she has shown so much disrespect for others and the show. She surely does not step up to be bigger person and take responsibility for her lack of effort on the show. YET, she continues to read and “hint” about others. I am very torn. I simply hope she can step back and realize that blabbing her mouth, at this point, can be used for more good than bad as she has media attention on her. But, so far she goes off– pulling people under the bus with her. The “moment” needs to stop so she can focus and recollect. I wish her the best…. Many of us are scratching our heads at “what the hell did they do to Jasmine?!?!?!?!” :-/
Stefy
Well, being called a nigger, having your face superimposed over all sorts of nasty shit isn’t going to make anyone feel lovey-dovey towards the other girls. I was very disappointed in Pearl’s retweeting some of that. I think I did some super-imposing myself of Pearl’s good looks with a good personality. That was just mean.
slashydrunkard
Pearl retweeted that crap? Are you sure?? I really don’t want to start disliking her because she’s a fave of mine
GreenEggsNSamm
James, I feel the same way! I met Jasmine at the S7 premiere in Chicago and she was amazing. She was so sweet, genuine, and very charismatic. I loved talking to her! I was shocked by how she appeared on the show. It seemed so night-and-day from the lovely person I met. No one deserves death threats, and in all fairness, we don’t know how the show was edited. Things could have been taken out of context. Her response is purely emotional and I can’t blame her for reacting the way she has. Like you, I hope she can step back, take responsibility for her actions, and use this media coverage to do something positive.

there is no however in this situation, its disgusting and these so called fans of this show are horrid, the gay community in 2015 especially shouldn’t be this fucking divided and hateful towards one another. Its disgusting. People are still hating on Phi Phi 3 years after her and Sharon got in it and moved forward. She stated her opinion that she was asked for on an edited show, did she kill someone? NO. Honestly I see mostly white gays and trolls doing this to her and its sick as hell. People who are not happy with themselves tend to project onto other people their unhappiness. For her to even contemplate quitting drag because of this is ridiculous, let JASMINE live her damn life! She is a great drag queen and just because you didnt like her on the show does not give you the right to bully her!
Truth
Using the “N” word and death threats is awful and unacceptable in my book.
That said, Jasmine is a bully herself. Before this article and the tweets, she was posting videos about shows where she was a performer and talking shit about the other performers. She self-righteously declared herself better than they, in so many words. Her best bet is to shut up. She has learned nothing from her experience and is thriving on the negative energy. Most unfortunate as the haters are getting what they wanted.
I know that I will NEVER go to a Jasmine Masters show or one where she’s featured – she’s that repulsive in her behavior. That’s where she’s going to lose – her pocketbook.
Amy Racecar
People can be fucking disgusting. I may not have been Team Jasmine – but I’m very much Team Fuck Jasmine’s Haters. Because – really? Racism and death threats? Real classy, kids. Ru said it best. Pay these idiots no mind, Jasmine. Keep doing you – the rest is noise. Much love and respect to you – for putting yourself out there on the main stage. That takes ovaries, dear.
mdvk
While there is a great deal about this that disturbs me, what repulsed me most is whomever is threatening her must watch the show! Ru preaches nothing but love, acceptance and above all tolerance!! How hateful people can be..
Liam Smith
The majority of these people who tweet these vile things only do it in the hope of your replying. It’s truly disturbing. Twitter and Facebook need to get serious with their trolling/bullying policies.
Stefy
I agree but at the same time I’m hitting that point in life where I have to ask: how old are we? What has social media done but trapped us all in eternal high school? I killed my Facebook. Done. I don’t need that mess anymore in my life.
Shannon Allen
Jasmine does not deserve this disrespect.
Johnny Trivi Espinosa
Death threats are so wasteful.. No one is worthy of that. Clocking and teaching her a lesson with reads, she’s worthy of.
Melizmatic
Agreed.
Allen2013
Bottom line…Jasmine can’t take criticism. If (and she should have) cussed out RuPaul on her own show, she would be blackballed FOREVER across nightclubs all across the nation.
storm131
Death threats and racial slurs are not the same as criticism.
Melizmatic
But shade is to be expected, and haters gonna hate.
storm131
Shade is clocking her makeup, wigs, outfits, talent, etc. Telling someone to go away and die, is not shade. And yes, haters gonna hate. Sad but true.
Melizmatic
That’s the hatred part.
burt reynolds
Was that the redemption for her ugly behavior on the show video? Because … That was so … More of the same continued lying to herself. And just like the show it just goes on and on and on and on.
So I turned it off.
LasVegasGal
THEY are NOT on Ms. Ru’s show. THEY being arm chair trolls, yell at the moon looking for attention. THEY didn’t get a cookie as a small child. THEY need to look in the mirror before THEY spew venom…..HATS OFF FROM LAS VEGAS to the RU. You go girl.
wisdomy
Eh, my impression from the show is that Jasmine is a profoundly unpleasant and sadly somewhat dim person, and a terrible drag queen, and her YouTube videos have certainly done nothing to mitigate that impression (they have, in fact, reinforced it). Of course, it should go without saying that none of that is worthy of death threats and racial slurs. People suck. 5 Gs, everyone.
Forrest Orta
First of all, I have done a couple of shows with Jasmine. She is nothing short of amazing and a great person. I think it is so shameful that people, who don’t know her personally, would stupid shit like that. This bullying is absolutely stupid. She is a personality on a SHOW. get over yourself!
Stefy
People act like this is the first contestant to throw shade on others. The Heathers threw shade all over the place without death threats. Tati and Raven read each other to filth. Alexis read everyone, as did Delta. Jasmine is catching heat because she dared to read on people that the dragfanworld happens to stan over. I like Trixie. I like Pearl. I like Fame. I like Violet. I’m not going to threaten someone’s life because that person read them harshly.
Reginald K. Davis
I must be watching another show, but on Ru Paul’s Drag Race, you were definitely talking smack about the younger queens. I’ sure that you’re very talented at what you do,
Firevest
All I can say is Jasmine f–k those people. And for you c–ts using the N word, how would you like to be called fag or queer, no you wouldn’t like it so respect others at all times. Treat others like you would be treated.
storm131
If you have something to say about someone’s conduct on a tv show, stick to that. Why do these idiots have to venture into the realm of evil and wish someone dead? Pathetic.
Melizmatic
Oh, boo-hoo; people on the internet were so MEAN to her!
O_O
Grow a thicker skin, queen; at it’s core, drag is about loving yourself and holding your head high no matter how much the haters may try to come for you.
I guess Miss Jasmine must have missed that memo.
Next!
Reny CT
I cant believe all that hatred.. for no reason.. my god.. Jasmine its a pure kind heart queen… people need a big c***
catspaw
Hey, you know what they say “Karma’s a Bitch” and she will come looking for you ten fold so be careful.
Luv Ya Jasmine.
Ky
I REALLY didn’t like her, at all, But I’m not going online and using racial slurs and sending death threats. Nobody deserves that.
