Here’s RuPaul’s full response:
It’s funny, we all think that the Tea Party is gonna be our undoing or that the Republicans will get power again and take away all of the liberties that we’ve been enjoying these past few years. I don’t think that’s gonna happen. I think it will eat itself from the inside out, and if you read Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm’ that is the natural trajector–you know the word–that humans go, that humans do, is that they start to feed on itself like pop will eat itself. Well, the gay movement seems to be eating itself from the inside out…. You know what, it’s what happens with humans. And in ‘Animal Farm,’ if you haven’t read it, it’s… it really just chronicles a revolution and that as years go on people forgot why there was a revolution in the first place. We just have… we just lose our memory; we don’t remember why we did what we did. It’s unfortunate. You kids who are just starting out in the gay life, you’re on your f*cking own at this… I had my fun, I f*ckin’ tore it up, but it’s up to you. And hey, you know whatever, you know.”
