It feels like there’s a new season of American Idol every six weeks, but we have to wait an eternity to hear Ms. RuPaul tell the queens “don’t fuck it up!” Well the wait is almost over: RuPaul‘s Drag Race Season Four is coming to Logo in January and, according to TV Guide, Ru, Santino and Michelle Visage are being joined by some big-name celebs at the judges table.
Glee‘s Amber Riley and out Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson will be rating the runway in separate episodes, as will Jelly Kelly Osbourne, Rose McGowan, Loretta Devine and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Hold up a minute. Ferguson and Riley are on top-rated, gay-friendly shows so they’re a perfect match. Osbourne and McGowan practically are gay men, so we can see why they’d be a good fit. And we suppose Devine gets a pass because she was in Dreamgirls.
But J-Love—what’s up with that? If being whiny about your weight and your crappy love life makes you a gay icon, we’re friggin’ Judy Garland!
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
For her part, Riley is totally stoked about doing the show. “I was so excited to do this I started screaming,” she tells TV Guide. “I am a very big RuPaul fan. She’s absolutely gorge. I just had to make sure my hair and makeup were done right if I was in front of drag queens!” She also told the magazine she hopes Glee Project‘s Alex Newell will play a gender-bending brother for her character, Mercedes, when he makes his debut on the show later this year. “Alex seems so liberated when he’s in drag,” she says. “It would be great for younger Glee fans to see a character like that.”
You better werk, Alex.

Jelly Osbourne? Who is Jelly Osbourne?
Cam
I would assume that Hewitt is on because she wears hair pieces and eyelashes like a drag queen so would be a good judge of them. lol

Speaking of drag queens, all eyes will be on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ tonight as the biggest DQ of them all, Cher, will be in attendance to cheer on her son, Chaz Bono.

Jelly Osbourne? Was that really necessary?
Oh, and Loretta Devine was in a film a few years ago called “Dirty Laundry” that was about accepting homosexuality.

@Razzmatazz: Bingo.
It is one of my absolute favorite gay-themed movies ever (even my mother likes it, which is nice).
Also, yesssssssssssss can’t wait for the next season of Ru’s Drag Race or to see Alex turn it out on Glee.
