OFFICIAL PREMIERE DATE: March 2nd! Read more >
Viacom, the broadcasting company that owns Logo Television, announced this past Saturday that “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 7 would be premiering as part of their spring lineup. The first day of spring is March 20, so, if the new season doesn’t premiere until after then, it would officially makes this season the latest premiering regular season in the “herstory” of the show (with the exception of “All Stars,” season six was the latest season to premier so far; all other seasons premiered in January or the first week of February).
The official press release states, “The mega-hit fan favorite returns for a seventh season this spring as the fiercest queens from across the land compete in this genre-defining battle royale of drag.” If their version of “spring” is considered the first half of the year, as some people have pointed out, then there’s still a possibility that the show will premiere later this month. Keep in mind, RuPaul did make a comment this past November that the new season would premiere in January, so these two pieces of the puzzle don’t seem to quite match up… anybody else as frustrated and confused as we are?

No matter when the show does premiere, all we can do is sit back and wait, because even the new season’s contestants have had it. Boston’s season 7 contestant, Katya, recently tweeted her frustration about the abnormal premiere date silence:
We’re a bunch of thirsty queens over here, so if anybody from Viacom or Logo is reading this… please give us a premiere date ASAP because we’ve had it…

In tv scheduling terms spring is January until May though.

Yes I am frustrated and confused , I’ve been searching all over the Premiere date and is no were to be found, I’ve check all the season premieres from public and cable TV from january to april and every single show is there, except drag race, They must be taking extra time to try and manufacture some storylines that didn’t happen.

Hunty it might be TV but it’s still a drag show. And drag queens are notoriously LATE! We’ll be lucky if this queen doesn’t keep us all waiting until July.
