Saintly QB Tim Tebow To Give Talk At Rabidly Anti-Gay Megachurch

Florida Media Day FootballJets quarterback Tim Tebow is the friendly face of fundamentalist Christianity—devout and clean-cut, but seemingly free of the stench of bigotry. That could change as he heads to the First Baptist Dallas megachurch to give a speech on April 28.

Pastor Robert Jeffress, who leads the 11,000 member First Baptist, is extremist even among the religious right—lashing out at gays, non-Christians and the President with his foaming-at-the-mouth rhetoric. Right Wing Watch reports Jeffress claimed:

There are a disproportionate amount of assaults against children by homosexuals than by heterosexuals, you can’t deny that, and the reason is very clear: homosexuality is perverse, it represents a degradation of a person’s mind. And if a person will sink that low, and there are no restraints from God’s law, then there is no telling what sins he will commit.

That must be especially alarming since, according to Jeffress, 70% of the gay population has AIDS.

This holy roller also called Islam, Mormonism and Judaism heretical religions that are “from the pit of hell” and warned that President Obama’s re-election would signal “the rise of the Antichrist.”

While Tebow has adopted a lower profile since joining the Jets, it’s not his first dalliance with hate groups. In 2010, he starred in an anti-choice ad produced by Focus on the Family.

At this rate, hes going to start writing “Leviticus 18:22” in his eye black.
