Here’s Kieran Daly, the gay bashing victim who claims Keil Joseph Cronauer and Christopher Charles Stanzel, both active duty Marines stationed at a base in Savannah, beat him for “winking.” The big question remains: Though Georgia lacks a hate crimes law, will authorities utilize the federal Matthew Shepard Act to prosecute?
Nick
Great response…he got attacked by people he was paying to defend him.

Daily or Daly?
I hope Kevin gets a great attorney and gets the two bâshers whatever the maximum penalty is.

I was actually a bit surprised it happened in Savannah – a relatively liberal beach town in Georgia that’s pretty much the arts epicenter of the entire state – but then I read that it was the Marines and sadly I wasn’t that surprised any more.

Is anyone up on how the federal law operates? Can it be prosecuted by itself, or only in conjunction with a state law? Under what authority did Congress pass it?
Jesse Helms
No member of the US Marine Corps or any branch of military service should ever physically assault a fellow citizen unless life is at stake.
These 2 skums should be treated like skum, thrown in prison and loose their Military positions.
or assume the mssionery position.
take your pick!

It is a great example as to why the Marines should not be consulted about the repeal of DADT. They must be educated, they must be ordered, they must follow their orders.
Michael
Hey, I got an idea. Why don’t we just start polling military members and their families to see if what happened is OK with them?
Kendall
Why didn’t we ever see the face of the gay reporter who did the story? He looked cute in profile.
Rick Brannon
@Lanjier: oh shut up, please?
