Yahoo! Defense Sec. Robert Gates doesn’t often show his emotion, but you could tell he was just a little bit thrilled yesterday to share the news that it would be a “very serious mistake” to think President Obama wouldn’t veto the Defense Department’s spending bill just because it includes DADT’s compromised repeal. Like if it includes line items for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter’s new engine and the C-17 transport vehicle (what, you don’t know what that is?). If the reconciliation committee that merges the Senate and House’s version of the spending bill doesn’t strike that funding, g’bye repeal?

You’re getting ahead of yourself. That’s IF it can get enough votes to pass the Senate in the first place. Also, calling this piece of legislation “repeal” is awfully generous…
Bill Perdue
Get it right, Queerty. The bill before Congress is not repeal.
It might, emphasis on the might, lead to repeal. If we’re good little boys and girls and send in our donations to the Democratic (sic) National Committee.
Right now it’s just Obama and the Democrats teasing us, holding the knife in the hand that can pat us on the back or plunge the knife, depending our vote in November.
Repeal of Bill Clinton’s DOMA and passage of ENDA are being postponed. indefinitely.
A Republican is a rancid right centrist with a theocrat attached at the hip. A Democrat is a Republican in drag.
With Democrats like this who needs Republicans?
The looter rich much prefer working with Democrats like Obama and the Clintons – they’re greedier, they fool more people and they’re able to get away with a lot more than Republicans.
For those in the military or thinking of enlisting don’t be a victim of Obama’s wars to make the world safe for BP and Haliburton from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of Arabia.
Don’t enlist. Don’t fight. Don’t Translate.

The so-called “Compromise-Repeal Bill” is not a compromise and not repeal. It is a charade negotiated by Gay Inc. and Democrats to create the appearance of progress.
It won’t pass. We don’t have 60 votes and we’ve made it very easy for Republicans to filibuster. They just need to say “we won’t vote first and then look at the study results. That argument is too compelling. It speaks to part of what is wrong with government and they don’t even have to say “gay” or “homosexual.” We’re stupid.

May Querrtly is going to the same cocktail parties as HRC? It’s a smoke and mirros. DADT has not been repealed. No money or votes for dems. this time around
Bill Perdue
@EricSF: Watch for a call for pledges to boycott both parties in November.
