It’s Queer Eye meets Too Wong Foo…
HBO Network has announced that it’s shooting a new TV show featuring three alum of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O’Hara, and Shangela will feature in the unscripted reality show entitled, We’re Here.
In it, the three queens will visit small-town America and recruit local participants to take part in a one-night-only drag show.
“Drag is about confidence and self-expression,” says Nina Rosenstein, EVP, HBO programming in a statement. “We are so thrilled to showcase the transformative power of the art form with our audience.”
How about we take this to the next level?

In each of the planned six episodes, the queens will inspire one another and their “drag daughters” to step outside of their comfort zone.
The three queens will serve as consulting producers on the show, alongside co-creators and executive producers Stephen Warren and Johnnie Ingram.
Shangela Laquifa Wadley appeared in seasons two and three of RPDR and was a finalist in season 3 of Drag Race All-Stars in 2018. She has enjoyed success since as a DJ and performer, including a role in Lady Gaga’s Oscar-winning movie, A Star Is Born.
Bob the Drag Queen, also known as performer Caldwell Tidicue, won season eight of RPDR and has produced a podcast, released music and appeared in the role of Belize in a Berkley Rep production of Angels in America.
Eureka O’Hara appeared in season nine of RPDR (but departed due to injury), and then again in season ten, where they finished in the top three. They have also released music since finding fame on the show.

I’m sure the show will be a success but in their research for small towns to invade I think it safe to say they never once considered coming down here to Pascagoula (not that they would have gotten a warm reception either had they started the search near the First Self Righteous Church of Pascagoula. Word travels very fast about gay things down here, praise the lord). That notwithstanding I wonder what ever happened to ol’ Pork Chop. He was my favorite and even though he was from the wrong side of the south (North(?) Carolina, sigh) he sounded so normal when he would finally get his chance to talk in the segments he was in without all of that needless chatter from those toothpicks he competed with. Hope you’re doing well honey. Hugs and kisses where ever you are.
