Sweat dropping from your chin. Bent over in a flat back position. With every repetition you’re feeling stronger. With every breath you’re feeling hotter.
The mental and physical benefits of being active are countless. Aesthetic results are only a slice in the spectrum of benefits you receive. Those who exercise an equivalent of two hours of strenuous exercise per week also typically have higher sexual function and awareness. Here are a few benefits to hitting it hard in the gym and in the bedroom.
Lift, breathe, and sweat.
The more muscle you build, the more your calorie burn increases. It takes work and healthy eating to maintain healthy muscle development. Supplements can also aid in efficient muscle growth and heightened sexual function, however good old sweat from simply hitting the weights can make a guy feel like one sexy S.O.B. in and out of the gym.
Lift heavy things. As the fat shreds down and muscle builds up, you reap the benefits of your hard work in half the time. The mental aspects of feeling like you are accomplishing your goals will help you uncover the true Adonis you already are. Trick your body into response by keeping it guessing. This allows your body to maintain consistent burn and muscle growth response. Circuit training is an awesome way to keep your body surprised and your results on the rise.
Keeping your body temperature up with various methods of circuit training can allow an increase in endurance and strength alike. Both elements are important in achieving peak sexual performance.
It also takes the right energy to maintain a lean body and hard muscle. Nourishing your body with the right foods can not only aid in muscle development, but improve your sex life by providing key nutrients for a healthy libido. Following are a few foods you can add to your daily nutrition regimen for optimal health, fitness, and sexual function.
Almonds – Almonds are said to act as a sexual stimulant. They are nutrient dense and rich in trace minerals.
Avocados – Avocados are rich in unsaturated fats and low in saturated fat. They are great for your heart and arteries. If your heart is strong, then all the blood flows to where we want it to go!
Fish – Oysters are probably the best-known aphrodisiac. They also come rich in zinc, which aids in boosting the libido. Other types of seafood are also considered aphrodisiacs.
Arugula – Arugula has been used as an arousal aid for centuries. It contains trace minerals and antioxidants that are essential for sexual health. Arugula can also help block the environmental contaminants known to negatively affect our libido.
Figs – Figs contain both soluble and insoluble fiber. High fiber foods help fill you up, not fill you out, so it’s easier to gain that sexy bottom and maintain those tight abs.
Citrus Fruit – Fruits of this tropical nature are rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and folic acid. These are all essential for reproductive health.
So, to all my athletes out there: eat clean, train hard, sleep, and repeat. Stay consistent with your fitness goals to achieve that killer physique and take your sex life to another level.

Last month you said guys with bellies were better in bed. Now there is this. Admit you have no idea.
Mark Pointon
Nice flipflop from loving bellies to fat shaming… Take your bipolar meds would you

Not from my experience… a hot guy does not necessarily equate hot sex ð???
Milk
Only one muscle needs to be hard.
Jon Brookshire
From my experience, the hotter the guy, the less effort they put forth to make the experience mutually pleasing. Of course, simply being with a super hot muscular guy makes the experience more pleasing from the start, but that enjoyment quickly fades. Of course, it’s not fair to generalize, not all athletic guys are dead in bed, and vice versa, but generally, yeah. Wait, wasn’t it just last week or so in which I read an article on here about chunky guys being the best lovers? Oh come on!! So which one is it? Are muscular, athletic guys or guys with bellies better in bed????

@Milk: That’s an organ 😛

No it doesn’t.

Not big into muscle bound hairless gym bunnies. I also do find them all that better in the bedroom. I want to actually feel something underneath me when I go riding. I do not want to worry about breaking someone in half. Not to mention, so many of these guys start loving themselves a hell of a lot more than they will ever love anyone else.

*do not find them …

Sex can be amplified by having a SHARED connection that is mental…sure a hot body is what many gay men see in porn and some gay men as well as straight men equate or believe that sex is HOTTER but the truth is these men are having sex for cash under the correct conditions, lighting, direction and other conditions also let’s not forget the power of editing …many gay men want and need a connection beyond FLESH for sex to truly be intensified and sustained but alas it requires a certain level of vulnerability as it relates to their body and their mind…maybe that is why relationships can be difficult for some gay men because these elements are absent…
Jeffery Olson
Being gay can be like being a teen girl; bombarded with harmful and unobtainable stereotypes of perfection. So helpful for the self esteem and mental health of and already disenfranchised group. Sad.

WOW! Ten comments so far and I agree nearly 100% with what everyone has said. A definite record.
However the focus of the article is on health, not muscle. A good diet, adequate sleep, exercise and physical activity, as we know, are all good things and are likely to contribute to a good sex life. The title, as we often see on Queerty is inaccurate and misleading. “Hard muscle [doesn’t equal] hot sex,” but habits that contribute to overall good health may lead to both improved sexual function and muscle development.
I get the feeling that the headline writers don’t read the articles.

Nope, I had a guy bigger than me fck me like a wild animal.

@Milk: The penis is not a muscle.

@Fang: I’ll allow it. Technically, some organs are also muscles, like the heart, for example. Not the penis, which is made rigid by blood filling porous tissue and is held upright with a tendon. However, seeing as male sexual function does require good cardiac health, it could be argued that the quality of your erections depends on a muscle more than anything else. This has been another comment by your local ridiculously pedantic nerd.

“Shape UP: Hard Muscle Equals Hot Sex”
For who?
Not everybody WANTS a muscular guy, so it certainly won’t be sexy for him. Some guys are into slender twinks, some guys like a BHM (Big Handsome Man), others like other types. So is the sex better for a muscle man? Well, maybe as long as the person he is with is *into* musclemen.
I will admit that I think athletic guys are hot, but not if they are vapid, shallow a**holes. Athletic and muscular guys are only ONE type that I find attractive. I have a wide range of tastes and you don’t have to be a gym bunny to “feel like one sexy S.O.B”. By the way, being an “S.O.B” is not a good thing. This article really annoys me.

@David Schneider: Of course they don’t.

Muscles are sexy, as are ideal looks; but there’s nothing like a boatload of vanity or conceit for a boner kill.

great article! feeling good makes for better sex!

@Richard Holaday: But visually they are far more interesting and stimulating to the senses. Beer bellies don’t radiate a sense of health and vitality. Clean muscle does. I’m not talking about those plump veined HIV poz freaks
