And did we mention Fairey will be DJing?
WHAT’S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Based on Fairey’s “Defend Equality, Love Unites” image, folks including Milo Ventimiglia, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Gavin Newsom, Marc Jacobs, Bruce Vilanch, Martina Navratilova, Anna Kendrick, Cheyenne Jackson, Sarah Silverman, Anne Hathaway, Rupaul, Ellen Degeneres and Portia De Rossi, Robert De Niro, Taylor Kitsch, Michael C. Hall, Dave Matthews, Jared Leto, Lance Bass, Chelsea Handler, Chris Pine, Chris Evans, and Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels created their own take on the insta-iconic image.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
We particularly like transgender activist and Navy vet Calpernia Addams’s contribution, and this one from actor Peter Paige. Oh, and this one from Chad Allen (pictured).
Their works will be auctioned off through CharityBuzz.com from Nov. 10-Dec. 9, with proceeds benefiting FAIR, which is fighting for marriage equality in California and across the country.
And to kick things off, a selection of the posters will debut Thursday, Nov. 12, on the roof of the Andaz West Hollywood in Los Angeles. And we’d like to see you there!

WTF!
Umm, excuse me, Fairey? Didn’t he just admit – because he got caught and sued – to stealing the photo of Obama for his artwork AND lying about it? Doesn’t sound like a very good choice Queerty…
YCKTR
Shepard has been stealing photos and artwork for YEARS. Why would Obama be different?

Its funny, I’ve been agreeing with Queerty for months that HRC’s cocktail parties and sucking up to politicians and celebrities is a waste of our time and resources.
Now, what does Queerty do? They run a contest to promote a cocktail party where all of us good fags can go suck up to politicians and celebrities.
Seriously,
What. The. Fuck?
Lady Ga-Gasp
If I win, does that mean I get to kick the ladder out from under his poser ass?
Rainfish
Ah yes, the pure plagiaristic “style” of Shepard Fairey (the recent ripoff “artist(?)” of those over-touted Obama posters).
Shhhhhh…don’t tell anyone…but he steals…outright steals artwork from other artists and then calls it his own.
Check out the link below for an expose’ as well as blatant examples of his plagiarism.
